He seems like such a lovely man. Reminds me somewhat of our Ken Forsyth from here.

He's truly caring and it shows in his lyrics. Again, super lyrics in "Natives"

~ soooooooooo true. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of these snippets. Thanks for getting me to where I needed to go to listen to his greeting.

An aside: His guitar style is very-near identical to that of my former husband. Nothing quite like walking alongside, as he walks slowly, with smooth, long strides, in any natural environment, accompanied by the sounds of only his guitar.

Well, "Johnny Don't Go" doesn't remind me of 'him

', but I sure do like it!!! He must be just great to see in Live in concert ~ ! Is he slapping his guitar for some of those rhythms? [Now, 'he'

has done that in that way.] I love that sound.

It's funny that you mention Ken Forsyth and Christy Moore together as Ken is the person who introduced Christy to Anne and I. I am a huge Christy Moore fan now (and a huge Ken Forsyth fan also!) and would love to see a concert.

We had several cd's of his playing in our rental car as we toured Ireland several months ago. I thought how wonderful it would be to hear him as we went through Lisdoonvarna. Do they still do the festival there?

Ken tells a great story about going to a Christy Moore concert in Liverpool and how Christy invited all the folks who were going back that night to Ireland on the ferry to join him for a continuation of the concert as they returned home.

Christy seems very much to be the type who would do just that ~ I'm sure Ken had a great time! So, you and Anne toured Ireland several months ago!?! Yes, his music [what I've heard so far] would be great in that context!

I can see me becoming a huge fan of his, too [and, of course, already am of Ken ~ or the comment would never have surfaced to begin with

Christy Moore is appearing in Liverpool very soon (21st and 22nd October)as the star in a big Irish Festival. I had not heard of him until he was mentioned here recently. Maybe I'll consider going if my intended mini holiday doesn't take place. Tickets are quite expensive.

Hi, Ironic that I missed a large amount of a discussion on a compatriot because i'm from Ireland. I'm glad to hear everybody is Liking Christy. Ali, I'll be sure to go to the website, can't wait. Every year I go on holiday with friends in a beautiful place called Fanore, a hop skip and jump from the town of Lisdoonvara and I'm sad to say that, due to complaints from neighbouring villages (very controversial) the festival no longer takes place there.
A lot of his stuff that I've heard are recordings from live dates and his introduction to some songs and interaction withthe crowd is spactacular. Some of my favourite christys are So do I, Black is the colour, 'Go, Move, Shift' although those are just some. Many of his songs are political and especially Irish, some you may not understand but its not your fault

I have only heard one song (Ride On) in its entirety, and he sure seems to 'sings like he means it'. Did I mention how sexy his voice is, too
