There is an interesting double CD set RARE LIVE SONGS 1976-1988 which starts with DO I HAVE TO DANCE ALL NIGHT, THE BUTCHER, STORE ROOM, EVERYBODY's CHILD etc.
Does anybody have a FULL track listing with details of dates & venues.
I see that there are other discs around that go under the title of RARE SONGS. I'm familar with the Birmingham, Preston & Brighton version but it seems there are others. It gets so confusing!
Any help with sorting out the various versions of RARE SONGS would be appreciated.
Cheers
Colin
RARE SONGS & RARE LIVE SONGS Tracklists
Colin, you're right, there's Rare Songs 1CD compilation, which contains Brighton and Birmingham soundboard recordings (no Preston! That was mislabelled: songs credited to Preston are actually Birmingham's soundcheck!), and there are two compilation Rare Live Songs, Rare Live Songs Vol. 1 (on 2 CDRs), and Rare Live Songs Vol. 2 (1 CDR). The first starts with Do I Have To Dance All Night single, and contains the mentioned songs. The second has, i.e., Misty Blue outtake.
I have the tracklist, but I think not here at work. I'll copy it here later.
I think only these three "rare songs" compilation exists. I saw Rare Live Songs Vol. 1 on 1 CD, but someone simply cut off last five tracks from 2nd disc and put it all on 80 mins CDR, so that was fake version of this fan compilation (it's not bootleg).

THANK YOU
Dear Tom
That's really useful. Thank you so much for taking the time & trouble to list all those titles, dates & venues. I can now try and sort out some stuff.

"...our terribly shabby human limitations..."
On one such "rare" collections there's an improvised dialogue that LC has with a "critic" in the audience, in which LC says, "I mean, we are all here with our terribly shabby human limitations. What can I possibly do except sing a few of these appallingly simple songs I've written?" Can anyone tell me what the venue (place and date) is for this wonderful recording?
