Not Afraid of Death

Post by Phil Rose »

Do I wait for death to call me?
Or do I call out my own name?
Do I wait for death to take me?
Or do I let death take the blame?

Will death be my release?
Or do I release death from me?
Am I afraid of death?
Is death afraid of me?

Does death get to chose?
Or do I chose my death?

Someday will death call me?
Will I be afraid of death?
Will my friends surround me?
Or will I surround them?
Will my friends bury me?
Or will I bury them?

Are they afraid of death?
Or are they afraid of me?

I sort of like that. I think it a pity that you dropped the question format for one stanza, though.

Not that I should criticise! My stuff is not at all profound, lol!

 Great quote, Elazar.

I also can really appreciate death's being viewed from all of these perspectives, Phil. I like your poem.

Yes it does. :D

But you need to take the extra 'will' out of this line.

'Someday will death will call me? '
