You crossed over the line in your last post. And in your unsolicited pm to me.

He's all yours, Laurie

Oh, is that so. You've insulted me quite a lot you know. Had you done so here in Sweden you would had have the crap beaten out of you a dozen times about now.

But sure, let LaurieAK, run the thing, you ******* asshole. (and just in case so there are no mistake: the ******* does not refer to LaurieAK but to Young dr. Freud).

last drinks please

Gentlemen,
Last drinks please!
You've had sufficient for the evening.
How better to destroy a fun thread that you feel is below you than to wade in & turn said thread (right said Fred?) into a slanging match.
Please take your dispute outside.

Now I have thought long & hard about this & have decided that LC shouldn't cover Hotel California. It's humourless & irony free hence not fertile ground for Lenny.

Cheers
ray

Jeez, what has happened to Sweden- used to be such a country, OK - a bit barbaric and a bit arrogant in it's own barbarism, without much imagination and sort of mutant depression- 'cause of the close marriages- was cold all the time; too far to go to marry de girls from de dorfchens on the other side of de forest, but still,- managed to get over de Baltic sea - to de latvian, estonian tribes, to kill all de babies and de women there, smartly taking the men to work on their viking boats- yeah- de great Sweden speaks again!!!. How come, de spirit lives for ever?

Well, now when I think of it-there is nothing to wonder about-just if one thinks about that IMPOTENT homosexual Charles XII of Sweden, no matter how hard he tried to be a man, trying on- one hat, or an other, he was a looser, could not get it up! He even tried it with women, poor Charlie! The Russians beat his ass at Poltava in 1707, then the Turks
laughed at him. He built the ships, but there was nowhere to go,,,poor Charlie-Karl de XII-back to de ruins and de pig stalls of Sweden! Well, I wonder, if Charlie also wanted to kiss the British ass, as the young Aslak boy has learned to do?

Never mind the bollocks, it's the "What leonard should not cover" thread.
He should never consider, for any price, covering "Does your chewing gum lose it's flavour on the bedpost over night" by lonnie Donegan.

"My boomerang wont come back" Charlie Drake.
"Anarchy in the UK", Sex Pistols
"Delilah" Tom Jones
"Glad to be gay" Tom Robinson band
"My ding-a-ling" Chuck Berry
"Lily the pink" Scaffold

I've had second thoughts about "Deliah". Picture this, Leonards world tour,
he plays St. Davids hall, Cardiff. For his final encore, he sings "Deliah", the audience join in, man, it would bring the freaking house down!

Indeed. And who would have thought a thread entitled "Songs Leonard Should Not Cover" would make me uncomfortably numb?

annaedith-I thought about it-that I should, but could not resist the temptation, my apologies. Just out of curiosity-how come the Swedish boy did not offend your sensibilities? Certainly, I've noticed very dirty talk above there, but I guess that was all right with you.
Surely the game of the songs should go on undisturbed with stories about Swedish bad boys, I promise.

Welcome to the forum Aslak

How do you like "That don't make it junk"?

"Took my diamond to the pawnshop -
But that don't make it junk."

This song is so entertaining. On a certain layer. :)

Leonard Cohen could never cover "I want". He is much too subtile.
