I will search for those photos, Linda.
For now, I found the original photo on jonimitchell.com. Description says "Joni and Leonard Cohen, Newport Folk Festival 1967".

Speaking about Joni-Cohen relationships, I always wondered when she made this painting of him...?

Here we are: photo titled "Leonard Cohen, Judy Collins and Friends, at Newport Folk Festival 1967" - the man with glasses is obviously John Hammond, and I'd say this photo was taken in same ocassion, even few moments later or before than previously posted photo.

I must only add that I obviously wrongly remembered there was Newport photo with a girl who wears hat--- I clearly remember now those three photos, nothing more Image

Thanks Jarkko,

I think you're right. It's not Judy. Still, I wonder, who might she be? A model, perhaps? Nice cover.

Nice picture of Judy! Judy 'gazing' at Leonard! Oh, well, some of us got it, and some of us... :D

Tom,

I've seen that painting before, and I thought it had accompanying info. It must have been here that I saw it . . . I didn't realise until then that she was a visual artist as well. There is that self-portrait of hers and I think other artwork from albums, but not like this!

Linda.

PS: I always thought we needed a 'shoulder-shrugging' emoticon! :D But, I don't think this emoticon is on our list of choices....

Hmm, I'd swear there was another post of mine with John Hammond and Leonard at the festival... the one I spoke about and to which I reffered when I said "the man with glasses is obviously John Hammond" amnd "the picture was taken in same ocassion" and "these three pics" (there are only 2 now) - namely, on first pic where Leonard and that same man (I never saw John Hammond before), and the pic was labeled "John Hammond with Leonard Cohen".

Jarkko, did you remove it?

I agree. And it's not other man's jealousy, it simply isn't healthy.
But I believe he was perceived like such artist those days; only later, from late 1970s, the image of Cohen as artist of deeper and spiritual levels appeared. I think no one should gaze so at him these days.

It isn't. But I realised that I can copy emoticons from other forums and paste them into the message here as any other picture! They will work until that forum is online, on same URL.

Here are some emoticons; you can copy them from this message in future posts:-)
