With such great news, I cannot refrain from dreaming and here´s my personal idyllic (but still feasible) setlist for the upcoming Leonard Cohen performances...

3) Everybody knows
4) In my secret life
5) The letters
6) There for you
7) One of us cannot be wrong
8) Sisters of Mercy
9) On that day
10) First We Take Manhattan

11) The stranger song
12) Suzanne
13) Tower of Song
14) Waiting for the miracle
15) Alexandra leaving
16) Joan of Arc
17) A thousand kisses deep
18) Take This Waltz
19) Hallellujah
20) Nightingale
19) Famous blue raincoat
20) So long Marianne

Any more guesses?
Best regards,
Jordi

On the basis of his current output I have attempted to come up with a dream/reality set list that goes like this. I have also stolen from the pot above me. I loved the On that Day/Manhattan combo.

3) The Letters
4) Go No More A Roving
5) The Future
6) That Don't Make It Junk
7) One of us Cannot be wrong
8 ) Take This Waltz
9) On that day
10) First We Take Manhattan

11) If It Be Your Will
12) Suzanne
13) Avalanche
14) Tower Of Song (with just acoustic guitar)
15) So Long...
16) You Have Loved Enough
17 ) A Thousand Kisses Deep
18 ) Hallellujah
19) I Tried To Leave You
20) Wither Thou Goest
21) Nightengale

I think he might now struggle vocally with the range of some of the older songs.
I would expect a large majority of the songs to be from his 3 most recent albums ..TNS, DH and the next one.

As long as he's there on stage either singing, talking or just accepting the applause :)

setlist

Hi, friends: After several discussions with my twin Chema, and thinking we´re in a new century and in an new intolerance global world where there is no place for love, nostalgic, dreams and folkers, we think the perfect Leonard Cohen´s concert in "a fundamental way" is:

1- Dance me to the end of love

2- Song of the new album

3- Boogie Street

4- The letters

5- Bird on the wire

6- Everybody knows

7- Here it is

8- There for you

9- Never any good

10- Song of the new album

11- First we take Manhattan

INTERMISSION

12- The stranger song

13- Song of the new album

14- In my secret life

15- Song of the new album

16- A thousand kisses deep

17- Because of

17- So long Marianne

18 Go no move a roving (each player introduced by Leonard)

ENCORES 1

19- If it be your will

20- Democracy

21- Take this waltz

ENCORES 2

22- Waiting for the miracle

23- Hallelujah (with a gospel zen chorus :?: )

24- Suzanne

ENCORES 3
25- Tower of song (Leonard second voice)

Is it or not is it the best setlist for de new century?

Antonio and Chema

I Agree With Pete,Leonard's Vocals Might Struggle On The Older Songs, Plenty Of Material For The Newer Albums, Although No Doubt The Odd Classics Would Appear In The Set List

"We Should Not Expect Or Get The Golden Voice Of Old"

"A Thousand Octaves Deep"
