after an all night Conclave, Pope Paula and I, hereby send out white smoke signals to indicate we have a new Comp.

By 6th May,
close of play,
when here in the UK
we are celebrating the election of the Labour Party to govern us once more, and the crushing of the revolting Conservatives ("shut up", says Pope Paula), you need to submit a pome, to Paula by PM, entitled

SECRET PASSION

your pome can be in any style, imitations as welcome as home-grown

you can enter as many pomes as you wish

I have just informed Liz, my wife, of the new poetry comp.
Liz submitted a poem last time for 'winter' and the conversation I have just had went as follows;

(me); there's a new poetry comp. are you going to enter?
(Liz); hey, that sounds good...what's the subject?
(me); 'secret passion'
(Liz): (silence)
(Liz); (more silence)
(Me); what's wrong?..don't you like that theme?
(Liz): oh yeeeeees

(Me); so why the silence?
(Liz); well, if I write about my secret passion then you'll know all about it

c2, i figured at least YOU would be able to come up with something less vague. i keep trying to think if i actually have a passion that's not a sexual fetish that i keep secret from anybody. but it's very hard to think of something. either i don't know myself that well or i just don't have any goddamn secret passions.
