Impossible connection

In the balancing act
I try to learn the rituals of uniformity
and the vastness of diversity.
I watch them
and they greet me
with interest.
They pass by
dancing
and marching,
laughing and scorning,
but I cannot join them.
The art of knowing is a never ending act
We must stay alone
to exist,
they,
and me, the difference.
