"When the myth is replaced by an orange"

Post by congealed principle »

Remember this blast from the past?
"On the way home that evening [always praying for a long life for Leonard ~ I'll go with Kim's predicted lifespan], I imagined such a scenario, but in the extreme, for the congealed principle of the issue. The image I had was of him being assisted onto the stage, and after being seated and getting comfortable, he reaches for the microphone, and in his weakened voice, he talks low and sincere into that mic. Perhaps speaking in a near-whisper at times, it becomes necessary to even strain a bit to hear him. He shares some of his latest poetry, as his mind continues to create beauty, and talk-sings several songs, before it's time to go. The performance is shorter than we expected, and had become accustomed to over the years.

How am I feeling in this scene? Were I fortunate enough to be there, I found I am feeling as consumed by admiration, awe, respect, gratitude, and love as I've ever been...and grateful that he trusted in our goodwill enough to share his voice one more time. No criticism forthcoming, yet not adulation either, but rather the deep reverance one feels for a beloved, family elder."
That was in the mythologies and oranges thread.

How I miss the good old days. How I miss the old Lizzytysh!

congealed principle

P.S. Leonard, please don't fall off the stage.

Thanks for the missing, Congealed Principle. The "old Lizzytysh," as you call her, is still somewhere deep inside, contemplating the value of life, love, kindness, and the value of contemplation. [Do you like the apparent ~ but not real ~ redundancy, there?] She had to run for cover. There was too much pain flying around. She came out just recently, long enough to address her years-gone-by Partisan, and was noticed in the sense of the 'old Lizzytysh' genre.

Now, on to the truly important issue, here. I like it that you found this and brought it forward, as it was the very first thing that entered my mind, when I saw this mind-boggling news. Yes, I actually remembered this discussion and the scenario that I held in my mind and heart, at the time. However, I had no idea how to locate that posting, or even if I should. I truly meant it then, and I truly mean it now. Thanks.

Thanks for missing 'me.' I swear the 'serious sadness' is going to take flight any day. It may just be waiting to make its final goodbye when I take flight myself and land in England, Athen, and Hydra. I sure hope so.

Love,
old and new Lizzytysh

P.S. He won't. He'll even walk onto it by himself [keeping in mind that it was for the 'congealed principle' that I gave my description].

Forgive me for interrupting a personal correspondence between "congealed principle" and "lizzytysh", but you both recall the first post/poem I placed on this board, way back in July 2002.

That was it, wasn't it, Andrew? [No problem on 'interruption' ~ wasn't personal to begin with ~ and it appears your thread ended up going its/their usual, meandering way.] Your poem now sits in the annals of Leonard history. [Did I say that right?]
