Lizzy, Paula, Thank you
It is true- Krish had a major influence on my life which started with the bees and books.
I hope I'll meet him one day above there, perhaps then I will be able to marry him?
He was a beautiful man from outside to inside, used to be a mayor of that town, but as under suspicion of being "the enemy of the people" was happy to be left alive with the bees. My little girlfriend's mom did not like us girls to be too close to him, because of the "enemy" mark. But I did not care and did not understand any of that then. '
Lizzy, did you get my birthday pics?
My jaw is all swollen there as if I was stung by bee.
The president of Latvia was supposed to be last weekend in SF, we-the Diaspora Latvians were supposed to have the big meeting with her. Even more- I was invited to a special dinner with her among other 40 people. Imagine how exited I was, but nothing happened-She went to the funeral of the Pope, I had a swollen jaw for a week and was relieved, that the honorable dinner party did not happen.
Mickey- there are very interesting things Paula mentioned about the bee queen, but I got to run now,
love,

Yes, such privileged and precious appreciations Krish gave you, Bee. What incredible books for you to be privy to at that age. The 'fallen mayor' makes it all the more intrigueing, as he walks blissfully amongst his bees, proclaiming that it's healthy to be stung by one.....what a creative way to alleviate fear with a young girl. It also, no doubt , creates some anti-bodies/-venom/-something in the doing, that would minimize future stings. So, yes, maybe truly 'healthy'!
YES! I did go there and see that they had finally arrived, my/your photos! It looks like a wonderful gathering you had, which I intended to comment on here. Your house is just filled with your artwork and goes so well with the colours you choose to live with. A delightful environment, with some very interesting looking people you chose, for spending your birthday with. I hadn't noticed the swollen look with your face, but will return to look for that, in particular. Is it on the left or right of your face, or did it go to both sides? I need to know what to look for, as you looked happy enough with your celebration!
Mickey ~ Leave it to you
.
Love,
Lizzy

Bee~
First thanks much for your kind words about my poem!! Appreciate it.
Now, what a great story!! You were blessed to have such a person in your formative years.
This part reminded me os something:
Mmmm, milk, honey and fresh white bread.
I think I'll bake bread this weekend.....
My poem was prompted for the most part by a new honey scented, beeswax candle I had just brought home. It fills the house with its scent..and I have a glass jar of the nectar sitting on the back of my stove.

I remember seeing on tv (quite some time ago) about folks with MS, who would go to clinics to get purposely stung by bees. It was said to relieve some of their symptoms. Somthing about their immune systems reaction to the venom. I don't know if this was ever clinically proven or merely a lovely placebo effect....He said it was very healthy if the bee stings you.

I know nuffink abawt Bees, 'onest Guvnr, (apart from my beloved ones, of course) but hats off to Camilla. Anything that pisses off the British Press has to be good. She's not young enough, and not pretty enough for them and they must have hoped the wedding would be a disaster.
btw it was interesting to read the obits. today of Andrea Dworkin, she was a challenging and important thinker.

I just read that, too, about Andrea, and wondered how well Robin knew her. Yes, Camilla actually looked very good in the photo I saw her.
What an inspiration, Laurie
.
Yes, Bee, I think I heard a collective, wistful sigh from all of us when we read your childhood story. It's quite idyllic.
Love,
Lizzy

Mickey a Queen bee is quite cheap under £30. I was surprised they post them to you I bet the Royal Mail don't like it. Are you considering becoming a beekeeper
On the subject of Camilla. I really didn't like Diana and I thought Camilla looked beautiful at the blessing. Diana did her bit an heir and a spare. Sad she died so young but I don't think she would have enjoyed aging. When the papers showed her with cellulite she was almost apoplectic.
