Gideon
but this was done without thinking.
In my experience, doing this will always get you in trouble...whether here or in the real world.

Yes, we disagree and i agree it is okay. All is well.

I just don't/didn't agree with the label i felt was being placed on me...which come to think of it is ironic, considering the debate.

When I lived in Yorkshire I spent a couple of years (unpaid) teaching Pakistanis English. We did these things.
I'm not bragging; all I am saying is that there are far more important things in life to worry about than whether 'Frog' is insulting.
Yes, Mickey, I know what NFN stands for. Do you know what NWA stands for?

It's a traditional boast of anti-semites that one of their best friends is Jewish, racists/black etc. Few of us carry the identity of 4 generations above. It's like one of the baby trolls here claiming that their 5th cousin, often removed, once wrote a coherent sentence, or read some poetry. This observation does not of course mean you are bigoted, but I felt uncomfortable with your poem.

I just counted and I have 3,000,456 more important things to worry about that this, but as it's the topic of this thread I am happy to give my view and delighted, albeit in the tiniest way, to respond to the delusions of the anti-pc arguments.

I don't know what NWA stands for,

regards

Michael

SEINFELD: So you won't believe what happened with Watley today. It got back to him that I made this little dentist joke and he got all offended. Those people can be so touchy.
KRAMER: Those people……listen to yourself, Jerry.
SEINFELD: What?
KRAMER: You think that dentists are so different from me and you? They came to this country just like everybody else….in search of a dream.
SEINFELD: Kramer, he's just a dentist.
KRAMER: Oh yeah, and you're an anti-dentite.
SEINFELD: I am NOT an anti-dentite!
KRAMER: You're a rabid anti-dentite! Oh yes, it starts with a few jokes and some slurs. "Hey, denty!" Next thing you know you're saying they should have their own schools.
SEINFLD: Well, they do have their own schools!
KRAMER: Uh… yeah!....

Kush~

Hahaaa...Thanks for posting this.

I'm not sure if it was this episode or a related one...

The Dentist has converted to Judaism because he likes the humor.

All paraphrasing...

There is a scene with Jerry Seinfeld sitting as if in a Catholic confessional booth speaking to a priest....

Seinfeld tells the priest his dentist has converted to Judaism just for the jokes.

The priest says, and this offends you as a Jewish person?

Seinfeld repies, no it offends me as a comedian.

James, just shaving and getting ready for the great day (son's 19th) and it came back to me. NWA= Niggers With Attitude?

The Spurs fans are known as the Yids, some Jewish followers like it, some hate it.

So, it all proves what?

Michael,
Correct. In case you didn't know, NWA are a black rap group who are definitely anti-semitic and wouldn't like us either.
Happy birthday, son.

James

Laurie..I remember that one but I'm not sure either whether its the same episode. There are so many cross-plots going on all the time it tough to keep track of...
Another one I like is when he asks the chinese mailman for any chinese restaurants in the neighborhood...

MAILMAN (pretty mad): Why must I know? Because I'm Chinese? You think I know where all the Chinese restaurants are? Oh, ask honorable Chinaman for location of restaurant.

SEINFELD: I asked coz' you were the mailman, you would know the neighborhood.

MAILMAN (still mad): Oh hello American Joe, which way to hamburger/ hot dog stand?

and later...

SEINFELD: You know, I don't get it. Not allowed to ask a Chinese person where the Chinese restaurant is! I mean, aren't we all getting a little too sensitive? Someone asks me which way to Israel, I don't fly off the handle.

Oh! That is so good. Many good ones on Seinfeld. The Simpson's also. If one stoops that low. I do. Maybe it should be a Guilty Pleasure. No, it's too good for that.

Linda.

This is off topic but 'connected' in a weird way, so I'm going to share it here....

After reading Kush's Seinfeld post and responding, I sat down to write an essay for my blog. I had the title before I was really sure where I was going with it. The title was: "The ottoman empire..."
chosen because I knew part of where i was going with it was about buying an ottoman. Which happened to be my second in less than a month.

So i write the damned thing and think it is the end of the story. Later in the evening Seinfeld comes on while I am toodling around in the kitchen and i hear him saying something about, The Ottoman Empire!! I stopped in my tracks and he continued on saying something about group of folks who liked to prop their feet up, or some such. I missed the part leading to him uttering 'ottoman empire' and my head was spinning at the strange, synchronicity of hearing what i was hearing.

That's it.

The Seinfeld Diner was really close to where the NY Event was held, great fun to see it, even the awful Kramer portrait on the wall!
