Captain Kirk goes global...
There is an oddity in Canada called William Shatner. He, as I'm sure many of you know, is the original Captain Kirk of the Star Trek series. He is well known for his so, so bad acting. But we love him 'cause he's the original Captain Kirk.
In the 60's or early 70's he released an LP along with Jack Lord (Hawaii Five-O) and Telly Savalas (forget the series). There were a lot of TV people trying to make a record. They failed.
Now, Shatner has come back with a new persona. He is pretending that he knows he is a bad actor/singer and he's put out a CD to prove it. It's called Has Been - see? Ol' Bill does have a sense of humour after all.
The thing is, it's a funny CD. Strictly camp. Sometimes he sounds like he wants to be Leonard Cohen (I'm sure this is true), yet at other times he is funny. He's also done a series of truly funny commercials. Anyway, this is a must for Trekkies. There's a cut called "You'll Have Time" that is both not bad and hilarious and (his very good singers) do some spelling...there's some great back-up talent on this but again, purely camp.

Well I was wondering about this CD! I'm not a trekker, but very found of Star Trek. And for some reason I like the persona of William Shatnerm he never seems to take himself too seriously. I'll check that, thanks again!
Telly Savalas? This was a sexy bald head guy. Kojak.

Well, I'll leave this up for a day or so, then get rid of it. Just wanted to share something a little different a little too late.
Linda.
Kojak - right! Thanks.

I'm not really a WS 'fan', I kinda doubt that there are any, but I didn't know this was a topic before. I should have been paying closer attention. Can't hurt to leave it, but if people have already seen it as a topic it falls into the redundancy category. So, I guess it stays until JARKKO HELPS ME GET RID OF IT.
Thanks Tchoc.,
Linda.

Kinda, no big deal (again), it occurs all the time.
If you scroll the board you can see that 2 or 3 threads about the same topic are running sometimes independently (despise the beautiful-shining-friendly- user-search-engine
) but if you feel so bad, furthermore, in emergency JUST KEEP CALLING FOR HELP
- makes me think of the attack of the killer tomatoes
