I Saw You Fall

Post by sally »

I saw you fall
Headlong
Into the maelstrom
Of love

You were not rescued
You did not survive
You had no next-of-kin

    Dear Sally,

From my perspective: Unique, brief, concise, and powerful in its few, well-chosen words and implications. I really like it. Would you mind sharing about whom it was written?

    Obituary

Thank you Lizzytysh. I have decided to title the poem - Obituary

I did not have a particular person in mind. My observation on love.
It just poppeled into my head.

Yes, Sally, that sounds appropos. I forgot to mention that I also like the humour in it....bittersweet and wry as it is. I wondered if you perhaps did it from a generalized sense, yet you still seemed to really be looking at someone in particular, as well.

    Encouraging Words

You are so encouraging to me, Lizzytsh. :) And of course, Leonard's poetry encourages me too. I will never be able to write like him - but very few people can. 8)

Hi Sally....Now that's the truth! If those who write, set him as their measure for self-fulfillment with what they write themselves, we'd have casualties all-round. It is true that he inspires others to continue writing...and that is not only good, but necessary as well. -- Lizzytysh

I agree with Lizzy. But, I am curious, why did you choose to re-post this now?

I just wonder, c2, where Sally re-posted that. Looking at the dates of the posts it seems that you dug it up ...

    Cheers
