In Holland we have at the moment the top 2000 on Radio 2
(all-time best songs voted by the listeners).
Only 2 Cohen songs have a position in this list.

Well, it looks like those listeners would've voted for "So Long, Marianne" over the "Master Song" to be included on The Essential. Even though there should be more of Leonard's songs there, I'm at least glad to see two of them are. In the U.S., the unfortunate reality is that probably none would be included . Even though I prefer them to be higher on the list [if they're listed in terms of 'rating'], they're both at least within the top 500 out of 2000.

Those among us who are old enough to remember 1970s, will also recall that mentioning Leonard's name to your music pals would most often be met with blank stares: "Leonard who...?" Today, a young person somewhere might pay attention to this list, and decide to take a closer look of what that character LC is all about...

Yes nenad, compared with 2003, in the first post of this thread it is an enormous change. Then only 2 LC songs in the top 2000 list and now 7 !
