You know, I’ve always been influenced by light and shadow in making my artworks. To me they are the essence of all.

EDIT: Posting this photo has reminded me that today is 10 years and 12 days since it was taken at that memorable concert, the first of the "down under" 2013 tour, in Sydney. And another first; it was the first time I met Alan in person. Ah, where have all those years gone and it seems they have done so with much haste! Time is such a precious thing - live each day to its fullest potential!

One of my favourite birds, a New Holland Honey Eater.
He decided to stare down the camera lens just as I took the photograph.
I imagine him saying "What are you looking at?"

Bev, the photo of Alex and his burning violin is so perfect, but only those who know about the song lyric and LC's final tour can fully appreciate it. And Alan, the honey eater photo is, quite honestly, one of the best bird photos I have ever seen, I love the stare. Thanks to both of you for posting them, and I hope you guys get some rainfall down there.

one could say your camera transformed an ordinary picture into a piece of art. unfortunate accidents sometimes have a silver lining. penicillin and velcro were also stumbled upon accidentally. it's the sort of image that will stay in someone's memory longer than a standard photo.

the first thing i noticed was it's facial symmetry. a beautiful creature, and so tame. after reading up on the birds that you and lisa have been posting i am becoming quite the ornithologist

i was unaware that that part of the world is currently suffering a drought. plenty of rain up here, often a little too much! pity it couldn't be more evenly distributed, but it never seems to be.

not so creative right now, busy with other stuff, socialising, translating, using OCR (optical character recognition) software, studying psychology, especially gauchais reaction/echokinesis and the validity of intelligence assessments. lady gaga's IQ is measured at 166 while beethoven's a mere 138, but maybe that is because he was not as versatile. anyway, what does it matter!

thank you so much. i share with you a photo taken while crossing the fjord near my home. a frigid and desolate place - especially in this winter of discontent.

finally, due to the mountains and fjords, our nearest train station is 2 hours away, so i was very excited to see a train today for the first time in a couple of years. wow!

sketching. simply take any image and make your own version - anybody can do it. if you wish to be original avoid anyone willing to teach you.
below is the photo used for the girl second from the left in the above sketch.

music is an important inspiration when it comes to being creative. we all have likes and dislikes, and i try not to get stuck in one specific era or genre, but keep an open mind to new styles or ideas - no one walks on a slack wire on their first attempt. in any case, one doesn't need to like something in order to be inspired. an idea is 90% of an original product, the rest is just work. if you are above a certain age you might find it difficult to appreciate a rap song, for example - despite dylan's 'subterranean homesick blues' being one of the first. search for anything that emits energy and embrace it.

Geoffrey, Dear, not everything in the World is about you. I was there and was with Judith alongside. We enjoyed a lovely time in Montreal at the 1976 LC Event. Leonard sent an email about it to Jarkko.

You are being rather unkind to me. It remains a joyful memory for me. It was a rewarding connection we made 46 years ago! Judith was a deep-thinker, and a great writer.
