We've been told that life is sold cheaply
We've been told not to howl at the moon
We've been nurtured within women's bodies
We've been rent from the peace of their womb
They've cleaned us and wiped up our messes
They've lost sleep while we've cried out in pain
They've protected and watered and fed us
They have suffered and still feel our pain
Woman your name is all knowing
Woman your voice is soft rain
Woman you take us and shape us
Woman your breath is soft rain
This is a thank you and a mark of my appreciation.

"Bipolar is a roller-coaster ride without a seat belt. One day you're flying with the fireworks; for the next month you're being scraped off the trolley" I said that.

Very nice poem and very down to earth.

I am a right bad ass, dankish prince and I love my Violet to bits.
Dear Byron,
I am deeply impressed by your gratitude and appreciation, and was thinking, what a beautiful tribute and thank you, before I arrived at your own words expressing the same. I can think of a number of women's venues where your poem would be most welcome. Have you given it to your own mother for mother's day, or her own birthday, or perhaps on your own?
