John I am glad you decided to let it drop.

I think silence can only be a response if the other person was expecting one. My guess is Mr W never gave it a second thought.

For a happy and as stress free life as possible worry about the things you can change and not the things you can't.

But John K., it is your duty to put him in his place. To try and heal yourself by wounding the bow of the arrow that shot you...of course i am just kidding.

I hope you truly have layed that ghost and soothed the young man who was so hurt many years ago by those words.

And, now that you see it can be done...it will be easier next time scar tissue rises to the surface 8)

Thanks for sharing your story. It was an interesting dilemma and conversation.

regards,
Laurie

Dear John ~

Yes, I do feel that the answer is yes on the question, "isn't silence itself a response?"

I'm glad to see that this humiliating experience is losing its power over you, due to your processing of it, your volition, your determination, and your resolve.

I'm happy to see you feeling better, John. Yes, "Let's sing another song boys.......this one has grown old and bitter." It is the stuff of songs. You can move on, however, only when you're ready to move on.

Love,
Elizabeth
