Wow! Something to look forward to. I have never stopped checking this site, with almost the urgency of the pre-tours days and it is lovely to have something unexpected and new, at least to some degree.

As long as it’s not a memorial box!

Yes, the suspense and mystery (both of which Jarkko is the master ;-) ) is of a palpable feeling and reinforced here too - https://www.leonardcohen.com/
.... dare I say it, "The answer is blowing in the wind"

EDIT:
Bob Dylan’s words above seem applicable but I felt LC should have a say in it too, so –

“… is blowing in the wind”
~ Diamonds in the Mine [in concert]

“The wind will blow the little scraps of paper ...
And He blows away all the little scraps of paper
that I keep their names and numbers on”

~ Billy Sunday (Blues by the Jews) [in concert]

"Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing" ...
The Partisan

Hummm... Another thought says maybe it's this - https://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewt ... 81#p377659
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

That was rather disturbing. I think I'll stick with the audio version.

I have to say that I agree. I watched to a point and after that, couldn't watch any further.
To be honest here, even though they are listed as official and their most welcomed intention is to keep Leonard's memory alive, I am not enamoured by these videos.

.... and I'm not saying that just because my speculations didn't come to fruition
At least I had a guess and it was so much fun to do that again!

Ditto.

I don't even see the point of making these videos, let alone calling them "official". Does this kind of thing really promote Leonard Cohen and his music, and is this the kind of promotion that reflects Leonard's artistic vision and integrity? This new video in particular strikes me as validating the narrow-minded stereotype that falsely characterises Leonard as "The Grocer of Despair", and while we're at it, bring on the razor blades. Really quite dreadful.

Oh well, nobody asked me! Cheerio!

Lisa, totally.

I couldn't find any English word to describe my feeling, since it's not my first language.

无力吐槽(Too bad to criticize) is the first phrase came to my mind.

Art is in the eye of its creator, so criticism of art is neither here nor there, and there is no reason to speak in its defense. Still, I am drawn to point out that whether or not 'Leonard's' videos reflect his vision would be known only to him, or perhaps (at most) to those closest to him.

I hope the videos continue to come.

I liked the image of the solitary figure in Puppets, and how they were walking in front while pages and Leonard's voice fluttered all around them, and I appreciated the look on their face when seen from the front. I think my own face might resemble something like that while listening to Leonard.

If the burning image was too disturbing, maybe try watching it again and focus on the rest? Or not? As always, we are free to look away.

Respectfully,
Vickie

The immolation scene at the end was not really needed by those reading this forum. What is in that scene was already perfectly portrayed in Leonard's stark words, and I would venture to say that anyone insightful enough to admire Leonard's work can process the meaning of his words without the help of shocking imagers.

Vickie is of course correct, "art" is in the eye of its creator. In a free society we can voice our opinions and critiques, but even art we abhor must be allowed to be created and to exist. (Not that anyone here has said otherwise.)
