Dreams are funny things ( :

And hooray for Janis being so appreciated! :D

She's a beacon, as is Leonard ~ each in their own unique ways.

Bobbie wrote:I've been a fan of Janis Ian almost as long as I've been a fan of Leonard's. Back in the "old days", I wore out LP after LP of Janis' music, gettin' stoned and listening to music.. like we did back then.. like we still do sometimes... ;-) I've seen her a couple of times in concert (is she still playing small, intimate venues?). Once, a few years ago, when she was signing a cd, I asked her what she thought of Leonard.. she perked up, smiled, and replied that he was one of the most influential singer/songwriters of our time, that she loved him, and that I had just reminded her that she must look him up, as it had been awhile. I wonder if she ever did. Janis' music is wonderful, timeless, and always sounds fresh. I will never tire of it.

Janis is still doing small venues. she is amazing in concert.

She made a comment about Leonard's Dear Heather on her message board.

I have a lot of time for Janis Ian and echo the sentiments about her integrity. Apart from her brilliant songs, as I suggested earlier in this thread, she's a pretty good stand-up comic! 8)

Janis is coming back to our Roots & Blues Festival (Byron Bay) at Easter, so I must try to catch her performance there! :D

Cheers :)

You will have a great time. It'll probably be Janis and her guitars, but she can make her guitars do amazing things.

I also am a Janis Ian fan but I've lost track of her over the years. Andrew, do you know off the top of your head on which of Leonard's albums she sang? Does anyone. Hey. I bet the 'net does.

Hmmmm... I wonder if Janis has looked in here.

Speaking of Janis... Henning, did you ever listen to the cd of hers I sent you a few years ago?

That reminds me just now of a dream I had last night... weird that asking you about Janis should trigger it. We were listening to Bonnie Prince Billie. Go figure.
