L.C. Song Hunt
Re: L.C. Song Hunt
There is a Leonard Cohen song that is actually two songs. The first song uses a completely different melody than the second song.
Leonard has recorded the song that he himself wrote the melody for.
The melody of the second song was written by somebody else. This person did not sing the song himself/herself.
The composer of the second melody is named neither Philip nor Sharon.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Thanks, Hartmut, you're right - and I've forgotten about The Partisan of the Song, because my own answer was "Is This What You Wanted"
Speaking about your current question, I recall both Hunter's Lullaby and The Bells by Lewis Furey...

Oh, okay. I thought your list was meant to include biographies only.Goldin wrote:and I've forgotten about The Partisan of the Song, because my own answer was "Is This What You Wanted".
Well ... I thought this would be much harder. And had prepared some additional hints. - But yes, you're right.Goldin wrote:Speaking about your current question, I recall both Hunter's Lullaby and The Bells by Lewis Furey...

Thanks!
Now I need some time to generate the next quiz - but also need to go out for the whole day. So, I'm sorry for the forthcoming delay in our game...
Wait, that's my sudden question: can you recall the lines where LC is being sorry, or confused, or simply admits his delay? In order to win, you need to find the most bitter, but still appropriate, lines.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Two suggestions:
"Been working out, but it's too late
It's been too late for years"
"Too late to fix another drink"
Which is the most bitter, that depends on how much you love your alcohol.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
No, I don't. Is alcohol a big subject there? Or working out?Goldin wrote: Sounds as if you follow my instagram![]()
OK, thanks.Goldin wrote: You got it with A Thousand Kisses Deep recitation!
If anyone wants to jump the queue, I wouldn't mind.
Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi,
Five words of Jesus' appear in what song?

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hey, Steven, from the top of my head possibly this:
“.. the alpha and the omega”
~ Light As The Breeze
And now I’ll add this:
Revelation 22:13
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Actually the last page of my tiny little gold gilded bible I've had forever says:
"I am Alpha and Omega" ....without the "thes"

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Bev,
I think that there's some controversy as to which of the trinity speaks that statement. Not a controversy
that I have any interest in entering into. That many hold that it is Jesus makes your answer correct, in
my opinion.
Hadn't anticipated your answer. The song I have in mind includes five words that comprise most of a well
known question. One word among the five appears in yet another L.C. song and has an association there
with Jesus.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Yes Steven, I do wonder about the author of those words
It sounds more like God but as you say, it is mainly attributed to Jesus.
Anyway, again shooting from the hip:
"Why has thou forsaken me?" ~ The Guests
And maybe “forsaken” from Suzanne.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Bev,
Correct again with "The Guests" and the hint containing song "Suzanne."

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Good thing I kept quiet. I was thinking of "All men will be sailors".

Things to do, it's getting late. Too late to fix another drink ...
