Well, well. I go out for a few hours, and when I return, I find that somebody has hijacked my friendly "spat" with Sue, and answered my quiz question! Have I been replaced, are we anonymous forumites* that interchangeable? Karren B may have... whatever that is on her legs (what is that?), but does she have any tattoos?
No tattoos LisaLCfan! … Not my legs (you should know that as there's no thigh boots). The young lady in the picture is obviously trying to enhance her chances of passing her exams by slipping the answers in her stockings, proving she doesn’t need any qualifications as she’s already a genius. She should think her self lucky she’s not in this exam room, they’re certainly taking no chances.

I think these boxes will be the next fashion trend Karren, just think of all the ways you could style them. I like your pentagram that's currently taking the place of your boots. Happy Easter - it's such a beautiful time of year.
Geoffrey wrote: giselle died tragically of a broken heart upon learning her lover was betrothed to another. at night, albrecht lays flowers on her grave, and weeps uncontrollably with guilt. upon seeing her ghostly spirit appear before him, he begs for forgiveness. with undiminished love, she gives it - without hesitation. her spirit is then taken by the merciless queen myrtha and her assembly of other wronged souls.

Boxes may seem a good idea, but I somehow don’t think they’ll ever replace the gimp mask…

Thought I’d change the avatar as I wouldn’t want people to think I was some sort of dominatrix with a large assortment of bondage and leather paraphernalia and a custom made leather bed with restraints attached, would I! ;-)

The pentagram/pentacle is significant to me and has been for many years. The writing surrounding it is Futhark (Ancient Greek) and reads Spirit, Water, Fire, Earth, Air, it’s commonly used on runes although if I were writing I prefer to use Theban (sometimes called the Witches Alphabet).

I have often wondered, considering your love of the moon and nature, if you follow the pagan/wiccan ways? Well it’s a full moon tonight (first of the season) sometimes called a Crow Moon or Sap Moon so hope it’s a clear night. I agree this is a beautiful time of year (Ostara) and I wish you A very Happy and tranquil Easter.

and so lucrative. tickets to these performances are not cheap. i once saw fonteyn and nureyev performing 'giselle', far superior, just doesn't get better than that. i admit he was as queer as a cupcake but what's that got to do with it? take a gander at this, and keep your eyes off his codpiece if you can.

Ah, thanks for the clarification! Hilarious photo of the box heads!

Sorry, Geoffrey, for the hijack. Back to the regular programming, now...

wonderful, karren. i think i have some idea of what those lyrics mean to you. thank you.

here is another piece of music, this time without words - yet moving nevertheless. written by schubert, the genius who died far too early, a man who requested beethoven's music be played to him on his deathbed.

I like cupcakes but am somewhat indifferent to codpieces. Margo fonteyn was a beautiful dancer, I've heard of her before but I think that's the first time I actually watched her.

that's a remarkably detailed image that you wouldn't want people to think!

we had a beautiful moon coming through the fog yesterday morning Karren, it was low, fat and pinkish orange.

I find many ideas in pantheism and paganism appealing. I don't believe in magic, abracadabra magic, but I do believe that the earth offers many things still undiscovered or forgotten -i.e. herbs, plants that can heal. I think that if people have souls, then trees do too and that, there is a possibility at least, that we (trees and slugs and moon included) might all be part of, might be, the sacred.

Well I wouldn’t want to offend anyone would I? ;-) Actually I’ve often found the pentagram offends more people than the boots!

That moon sounds beautiful Cate, like a big pink grapefruit. It was very overcast here so just we just got a hazy glow.

Wicca/Paganism has very little to do with Abracadabra and more to do natural magick, working with nature and the elements, and respecting the world we live in. The practice of using plants and trees to heal has been around forever, people often called it witchcraft because it couldn’t be explained… If you think about it nature governs everything, and at least we can prove it exists! This earth is all we have; remember there is no PLANet B!

Lovely piece of music Geoffrey.
I had no idea Schubert was so young when he died.
See, you can learn something new every day!

Just for you, Geoffrey, here is my perfect offering, just in time for Easter, the sublime "Resurrection" violin sonata by H.I.F. Biber. I hope you enjoy it!

sublime! thank you so much. this was a pleasure to receive. i listened to it in the night, when the message popped into my mobile phone, while i was lying in the dark, silent and alone. it was relaxing, thought-provoking, nostalgic, and good to know someone somewhere in this big wide world was thinking of me.

specially for you, a little change of tempo, and (after 'fantasie in f minor op 49') one of my favourites. :-)

That is the best way to listen to such music, with no distractions. Glad you liked it!

A "little"? :D I love Chopin's etudes, thank you!

And, "good to know someone somewhere in this big wide world was thinking of me", to you, too!

the lonelier we get, the more we seem to be surrounded by people. we assemble ourselves in close proximity, and yet remain like the many thoughts in the head of a schizophrenic - unconnected and alone. we do not cling together like daisy chains, or hold hands like damp cigarette papers. we are silent when we meet, strangers in a library. like cable cars we pass by without a word. like magnets with identical poles we are unable to touch. 'no man is an island, we are all part of one big continent', said john donne. 'this whole world is an island, a lonely rock in a universe crawling with millions of civilisations with whom we cannot communicate' - i said that.
