Our joke has been going on so long I can no longer remember if you actually ever have produced a painting of Ali!

Great stuff as ever. Well done on Elvis and you show restraint in not surrounding him with cheeseburgers.

nah, why don't you do it, mike - it's not rocket science. i don't usually paint people with dark skin because they are too easy, caucasians are the challenge. i am currently norway's leading portraitist, so for me it's no problem. when you can successfully put red, blue and green into the face of a european then you can call yourself an artist. have a go. it's not as hard as it looks. all you need is guts, and lots of it. for example:

Sue here. Mike's in the bath. Obviously not at my house but I checked the Royal announcements page in The Times of London and that is where he is due to be this week.

Mike can not draw at all. His pin-man is rated the worst ever. He draws worse than a 3 year old child and that child is steadily improving and his parents will soon call off their contests.

I will send Mike a telegram to convey your generous encouragement but he has as much chance of drawing well as Norway has of winning the prestigious European Song Contest.

Geoffrey Wren - Nul Points.
