Re: Bob Dylan - European Tour 2014
I saw him in Dublin, and it was possibly one of the best Dylan concerts I've been to ( starting in 1965).
He sang the normal set list (see the above link to Johanna's Visions) but he sang the songs with feelings and a little bit of melancholia.
I loved 'Things have changed' 'Love Sick', 'Tangled up in Blue' and 'The Long and Wasted Years'. They were my favourites.
If you get a chance, make the effort and approach it with an openmind.
The band were great.

Look after yourself and (each)others. All the best Dave ♫♫♫

it was good ,very good, being open minded and hearted is important to get the best out of a Bob concert

I would add the beautiful ' forgetful heart' to the songs you mention and i'm sure you noticed the changed lyrics in 'tangled'. Bob sang clearly enough so you could clearly hear the words -
which isn't always the case!
In my view not as good as the 2 2005 Dublin gigs at the o2 predecessor ( the point ) - widely regarded as among the best Dylan gigs of the last decade .

Re: Bob Dylan - European Tour 2014
And hasn't been for at least 10-15 years. I go because his Bobness is a legend and like daveliver have been a Dylan fan two years longer than I have followed Leonard Cohen but I won't go again. The stage is darkened and its purgatory to even comprehend some songs until Bob's well in to it. Sorry but although the studio albums are still great, seeing Bob live isn't any more.cohenadmirer wrote: sure you noticed the changed lyrics in 'tangled'. I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

Just something from Wikipedia's main page ("In the news" section):
Lyrics of "Like a Rolling Stone", handwritten by Bob Dylan, sell at auction for a record US$2 million.

Blimey O'Reilly, still it is possibly the greatest song of all time.

Re: Bob Dylan - European Tour 2014
You and I will never agree on Bob's current live performances Vicomte, and I respect you for that. I was at both gigs in Ireland and am in awe of Bob's stage presence these days. Arrogance, showman, or just a "song and dance man". Who knows? Only Bob. I would pay good money (if I had it)to see his delivery of Long and Wasted Years every night. G-d (see what I did there
) knows who he is singing to, but it is pure venom each night. (Still think it's autobiographical)
So, just when you think he has a standard set list (which he has had now for over a year), he drops this into the mix a couple of nights ago :://www.boblinks.com/070514s.html
Sadly no video or audio as yet, but I'll share as soon as there is.
Roll on John? Roll on Bob.
I shot the Sheriff by the way. Too many deputies though...
