Liffey Valley Shopping Centre
What would people do if they didn’t
Go shopping -- sit in this mezzanine
Food court to queue in front of KFC,
McDonalds or the Kylemore?
Sip tea or coffee, nibble on a chocolate
Muffin, pretend not to watch one another
Reading, gesticulating, whispering intently?
Or stare into the endless moment that
Is time opening, a speckled orange tulip,
To sepia sunshine? Attend time as it explodes
To this moment asking, What would people do
If they didn’t take elevators to waiting
Wafts of coffee, metallic on the tongue?

Enjoy the images that are real in mall sitting. Been many years since I've had reason to sit in one [barely even gone to one], but your images resonate with what I remember. Interesting final stanza.
