I hope this is OK to post here. It's not poetry but it is my own work. It is my video message to Leonard Cohen, and I'm on a desperate mission! I'd love your ideas on how to get it to him...

Leonard Cohen has been a constant in my life ever since I was a baby and would listen to his music drifting up through the floorboards. I also share his love of Lorca. I live in Spain and I'm in the middle of a crazy project I think Leonard Cohen would appreciate: I'm building an amphitheatre in the mountains of Granada (where Lorca is from) with the idea of starting a Lorca festival there next year. We have already built the stage area and the first 150 seats. I also have the endorsement of Lorca's niece, Laura Garcia-Lorca and the Féderico García Lorca Foundation in Spain... so it's crazy, but it's happening.
Any bright ideas?!
Leonard, Lorca... and a crazy dream!
Re: Leonard, Lorca... and a crazy dream!
Hi ~ This sounds GREAT and I agree on your conjecture that Leonard would find it interesting! A very exciting project!!!
My suggestion is that you send this message, plus whatever else, to Leonard's management team, as suggested in the Leonard Cohen Files [link above] at:

Re: Leonard, Lorca... and a crazy dream!
Thank you, Lizzie! For your suggestion and for your encouragement re the project. I think he is a great fit for my project... Lorca, Granada... the poetic quirkiness of it... Trouble is, I would also just LOVE him to respond. Just because. I can't pretend it's an intellectual decision! hehehe...
Re: Leonard, Lorca... and a crazy dream!
Well... his responding is another matter altogether! There's NOTHING that would ensure that.
Once your project is completed, it's another matter... but, even then, his responses would well likely come via his management.
Following your heart with what you're doing is certainly the best way to go... and then whatever happens or doesn't is what happens or doesn't.
Your genuineness and sincerity are what matter most in your project.
Hoping for the best for you, no matter what.

Just to let you know he tweeted me today and wished me luck with the project!! I'm thrilled!
Re: Leonard, Lorca... and a crazy dream!
That's wonderful, thedragon! Didn't realize he had a Twitter account [presuming it's him]. Not that I would have a REASON to know it, of course
.
If it's him, and he's wishing you luck, it sounds like that constitutes his approval, though
Please let us know how it proceeds!

Unfortunately, LeonardCohen74 is an impostor on Twitter. The real Leonard Cohen has no Twitter account.

I'm not surprised by that ~ at all.
Thanks for clarifying it, Marie.
