I am most interested in the talents of your CG. I'm presuming that CG is your 'computer guy' and not your 'cover girl' - CG being Cover Girl's TM, of course. Speaking of which, I've not as yet heard Avalon speak in a homophobic fashion, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of such a system. However, I can certainly attest to the fact that there is, sadly, much abuse on the Cohen site which is really not in keeping with the All Good Things motto, is it?

One final thing I'd like to bring up is this business of my random classifcation. How are things going there, I wonder. Please let me know if you have further news.

Ciao for now,
Linda.

Hi Volcano Girl!

Avalon's exposure as a homophobe can be seen in a thread about my music, turntable thingy etc.

Avalon wrote:

Go kiss yourself, you queer.
Adieu

and I replied

Hi again Useless, on a scale of 1-10 just how homophobic do you rate yourself. For example, as a writer you are between 0 and 1, and as a troll you are of a similar standard.

But you had managed hitherto to hide your fear of homosexuals. Now you are out of the closet I would like to know more precisely how deep your prejudice runs.

Do let me know, Useless

ps how are the panic attacks today?

_______________

I had, up until that time, written off Avalon as simply a dullard but more recently have realised she is actually thick, but *really* thick. So, it is possible that her mitigation for casual gay abuse is lack of intellect and awareness rather than malice.

I think we would need the ruling of Byron, former Lord Chief Justice of Chester and Liverpool, on that one.

Further mitigation may include that she was in the middle of a panic attack as she posted. She clearly knows how out of her depth she is in this spat with me. She also knows it is her job to entertain me and it frustrates her that she is too dull to do so.

She always dances when I order her to do so but it's a nasty out-of-step plod.

More seriously, I can say that this homophobia, even if driven by Avalon's insecurity about her own sexual identity, is horribly incongruous on a Leonard Cohen site and my boyfriend and I feel most uncomfortable about it.

Regards

ps check your classification on the thread.

Byron is in Chambers (not pot either!) and quietly cogitating the Avalon civil case. Sir Hubert Saxe-Coberg-Gotha is assisting in the deliberate ations. Well someone has to make the tea
Byron is now going for a lie down.

Ouch!! not again....... Bloody MFI beds!

c2 (I hope you don't mind the casual reference - my fingers have become a tad arthritic from all the fog-knitting I've been doing lately - typing is a bit of a chore at times). Anyway, my suggestion re Avalon's dancing disability is to buy her some clogs! If, as you say, she is somewhat out of step, clog dancing might be just the thicket. They do a lot of clog dancing in my country and believe me, you'll never know if she's out of step!

I think Byron is en camera and therefore unable to verify whatever mental/emotional challenges Avalon may be facing. The clog dancing might actually be therapeutic. As far as her IQ and writing ability being in the 0 to 1 category - isn't it all modern communication about zeroes and ones? Anyway, I'll be speaking to Byron when he is available as I need to know what the hell an MFI bed is. Unless you, c2, lofty possesser of all knowledge, have that information under your own dome?

I shall seek out my classification standing. Hopefully, it is a case of 'seek and ye shall find'.

A dew is freezing on my front porch so I'd better go tend to the matter before someome slips and files a suit.

Cheers,
Linda.

Dear Miss Lakeside

as a preliminary matter, I wish you to feel secure that it is perfectly proper for you to call me C2.

If I were to buy Avalon a present (about as much chance as Leonard Cohen casually calling someone a queer) then I would buy her a pair of hobnail clogs. Thank you for your inspirational advice!

With regards to Byron’s domestic furniture issues, I happened to take tea today with the designer Sir Terrance Conran. He informs me that MFI furniture is "tip-top bespoke gear" (young Terry can be a little uncouth at times) surpassed only, in the view of a dilettante minority, by la crème de creamythingy by Ikea products.

As to the dew on your front porch, I wonder if, perchance, he is bringing you a late Chanukah present?

warm seasonal regards

I am beginning to wonder if it was an altogether wise decision of yours. LC Byron, to grant that Miss Lakeside pupillage. She certainly appears to be a comely young filly , but she asks, in "who are the Beatles?" style, "what is MFI?" as if she is not at all following Gordon Brown's economic policies. I do think those starting a the Bar should be au fait with domestic politics (and domestic furniture).

Secondly, she is going to have one hell of a journey from Vancouver each day, in this rather inclement weather, to be in your Chambers by 7 a.m.

I do hope that these humble submissions are not considered impertinent,

I remain, Sir, etc etc

Critic2, so glad in your denunciations of Avalon, that you have a new-found appreciation of the niceties of civilization and good citizenship. It was not always so. Do you remember in your Harry Harpin incarnation, when you were forced to edit your posts in "The Magical Holy Well " thread? Your little bon mots did not go over very well then. So, glad to see you have developed a new sensitivity--Even if it's only about yourself.
