Hi
If you're on FaceBook, you might want to keep track of the Leonard Cohen Newswire. The Nov 24 post:
November 24, 1992 - 21 years ago today - Leonard Cohen's THE FUTURE was released by Columbia/Sony.

The original working title of the record was BUSTED (after the line in "Closing Time"), and one moment, Leonard considered the title BE FOR... REAL. The follow-up to previous bestselling record I'M YOUR MAN, THE FUTURE pushed further social commentary and political themes, in now well known songs as "Democracy", "Anthem", "Closing Time" and "The Future".

Sometimes criticised as being the diverse, even disjointed collection of deeply political songs and long love ballads ("Waiting for the Miracle", "Light as the Breeze") in Cohen's strongest entrance into rock mainstream production so far, as well of "odd" covers ("Be for Real", "Always") and even one instrumental ("Tacoma Trailer"), THE FUTURE reached to new and younger audience, winning Juno Awards for best male vocalist and best video ("Closing Time").

There were three official videos for the album: Closing Time, The Future and unused Democracy (now available on You Tube). But here's TV promo clip "Waiting for the Miracle",
part of Leonard Cohen Special on Finnish TV in 1993, which also included interview and partial broadcast of his concert in Helsinki in May 1993. This video was probably shot in Leonard's hotel room in Helsinki that month.
