Hi,
"Well never mind, we are ugly but we have the music." -- Read a quote about Janis Joplin that reminds me of those
words from the song "Chelsea Hotel." Kris Kristofferson is quoted in the book Outlaw: Waylon, Willie, Kris, and
the Renegades of Nashville by Michael Streissguth. Here's the quote from Kris Kristofferson: "I loved her like a friend. She was very soulful, a passionate person but very childlike to me, a litle girl in dress-up clothes. She was an unhappy person. Even though she was fun to be around, she felt that the only thing that made her attractive to the world was her art, her talent, her stardom. And she was intelligent enough to know that it was temporary." (The quote is
from a 1997 interview. The book is new.)
"we are ugly..."
Re: "we are ugly..."
Kris's poignant words make me miss her even more.
So sad for her to have died without her knowing her true worth.

Hi,
Allan Showalter has a remarkable video on YouTube called: "Leonard Cohen's Elegy For Janis Joplin - Chelsea
Hotel #1." The video has over 125,000 views. Some of you have not seen/heard it. I didn't till today.
