Halloween....a bit tardy

Halloween!

A jack’o lantern bonfire
Burns across the street
It beckons to all night creeps
To have their yearly meet!

They dance around the fire
Their faces all a fright!
You can see right through the ghostly ones,
Who glow an eeerie white!

While peeking through my curtains,
And ducking down, real low
They’re singing about bad tidings
Round the creepy orange glow!

The witches all have broomsticks
The skeletons have no clothes,
I Smell the Zombies from o’er here
And have to plug my nose!

Black cats and crows and bats arrive
They’re bringing in some eats!
Fishy eye-ball sandwiches
With mustard and pickled-beets!

Dessert is brought by ugly trolls,
A chocolate coffin cake
Was baked with nails and sugar
And in the middle is a stake!

My dog is getting nervous,
My knees begin to ache,
I hope this Evil Party
Will end soon, for Goodness Sake!

The fire’s glowing softly now
Their voices aren’t so loud
It seems they’re going home now
To the sky or underground.

The moon is disappearing,
The sun is now in sight…
We’ll pull the shades and get some Sleep
It's been a long weird night!!
