comfort

Post by Gullivor »

My comforter. My beloved. I stumble you move towards me. I fall you draw nearer. You teach me not to tarry in the past or reside in the morrow. Your comfort is in the present although your love is forever. I am constructed in this moment. I am scaled down to this second. In pen and paper we are connected in this instant. Where time has ended and I disappear in your presence.

Although your ways are steep and I am unworthy. In my weakness you are there. In my pride you are gone. The stronger I become the farther that I wavier. When defeated I see you are always here. I am blinded by my own sight. I am deafened by my own ears. I am bound by my own thoughts. A prisoner of my own will.

Hi Gullivor,
I hope you are well.

This is a wonderful prayer, reminds me of the Book of Mercy.

Hi Cate,

Thank you and hope all is well.

Yes the prayer was inspired by the Book of Mercy. I was reading it at the time a few years ago.

I took a train up to Ohio last week to be with my mom as she has more cancer surgery. I took The Book of Mercy for comfort on that long ride and was able to read a little more deeply than last time.

It's beautiful here in the Cuyahoga Valley. Looking forward to some snow to blanket the scenery. Those Cardinals sure look amazing in an all white background.

My prayers for your Mom, Gullivor. The same as with Cate, your prayer reminded me, too, of the Book of Mercy. I see for good reasons. It must be hard for you to have to watch her go through these things. Leonard's book would be helpful at times like this.

Yes, the bright red of cardinals is so beautiful against the white snow.

Thank you for the prayers. Surgery went well and she is home now.

I have seen the snow and I have seen the cardinals. I would rather see the cardinals in Florida!

He is indeed beautiful.

Glad that the surgery went well for your Mother. It's tough when your parents (loved ones) are facing serious medical concerns like that; to see them vulnerable and fragile. Somehow it's hard to shake that childhood notion that our parents are indestructible and a bit startling to see that they are not.

I googled the Cuyahoga Valley. it looks quite beautiful as well - I guess I see why the cardinals hang around though Florida is sounding pretty nice right now. You're very lucky Lizzy!

Yes, Gullivor, I'm glad too that your Mom has come through her surgery well. You are so right on that feeling we have about our parents being invincible, Cate... ad logic-defying as that notion is, it sure holds strong way beyond common sense... and it can be very shocking.

The photo of the cardinal is just how I see it in my mind's eye. Brilliant.
Oh my G~d... I've been hearing how COLD it is up there... I get chills just thinking about it!
