Daddy's Little Princess.
Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. my beloved, my angel.. how are you?.. (I miss you).. (x xx..
.. speaking of red noses, it looks like you've been enduring some fairly cold weather out Dublin way, even if the crowds are warming. [luckily they are]
.. it seems you're having a grand time, too.
.. as for me, I'm heading into Gotham tomorrow, and will have my crazy cuz up here this weekend. Yes, it seems he got himself engaged--to that southern gal, with the double-name. I know, it's hard to believe, given he was having a hard time even landing himself a date a while back.. but
.. anyway, I guess it's time for another
VIOLET FLOWER'S CHANTEUSE UPDATE:
1. .. yeah, so.. I think I'll be bringing in my coral-silk End of the World chanteuse dress to that tailor. [whose wife is going to spit at me] It has to be done.. so I'm holding my breath, and just going in there, and showing them how it needs to be further altered.
[sound effect: spitting sound].. [obviously]
2. .. as for the "chicken fillet" situation.. [actually, I think I've been calling them 'cutlets' too, haven't I?].. anyway, I found this item, which is making me feel there may be some safety related issues concerning this topic..
IT'S THANKS TO MY 'CHICKEN FILLETS' BRA-BOOSTERS THAT I'M ALIVE TODAY
says woman who survived horror car crash
Young mother Lisa Somerville cheated death in a horrific car crash - thanks to
her bust-enhancing bra. The 28-year-old was driving home in a violent rainstorm
on a notorious stretch of road when she lost control of her car and careened head-
on into traffic. The mum-of-one had to be cut free from the car by firefighters
and was rushed to the Royal Infirmary with a punctured lung, four cracked ribs
and a broken nose. When she finally regained consciousness, doctors told her the
'chicken fillets' in the lining of her bra, which she hated so much, had actually
saved her life.
[end: excerpt/Mail Online]
.. so.. yeah..
.. (hmm.. )..
Well, my love.. I've formalized my finishing the writing, as I put it in its final format. Now, I just have to take care of few more related items, and it will be ready for the next phase of things.
.. so, things are moving right along, my angel.
.. oh, the weather's turned real nice up here, and I really should head out on my bike ride early today, and soak up some sun, I think. I hope things are warming up where you are, as well.
.. actually, I've noticed there are no taped recordings of your performances in Dublin posted, and I'm wondering why that is..
.. however, I am noting.. [given a lot of the comments posted here].. that the, uh, "audience inebriation level" is as high as I was just implying it would be.. and so, I'm holding to my last suggestion.
[Anyhow wise, I mean]
[.. just slide it right in there, my angel.. maybe about three-quarters into the second set].. [there'll be fewer brain cells out there and functioning at that point..
.. so.. yeah..
.. [.. just slide 'er right in]..
.. alright, my divine.. I do hope the rest of your stay in Dublin remains splendid. [if a little warmer]
oh. In the painting below, the top of the black cocktail dress is exactly like the top of my 50's black cocktail dress. [although mine has a pleated skirt and is a bit, uh, shorter]
[I've always loved this painting].. [oh, and it's pretty much how the Dublin crowd will be seeing things up on stage once you get around to doing "Anyhow"].. [you know, sort of like triple double-vision, you could say]
[and you thought I was done with that pitch for now]
[silly]
.. alright, my beloved.. I send again my tender little kiss.. x.. (to go with the luck of the Irish.. xx x xx..
[oh, and I'm getting in deeper with Sarah these days, too..
[this one really can't be improved upon I don't think].. [still, I'm thinking of doing it..

I just thought this comment so lovely and poetic and "Irish" sounding, I thought I'd post this excerpt of this post. [hope you don't mind, Willo]

.. my love, how are you?.. just a quick good luck note for your last performance in Dublin.
.. even though it may be cold, it sounds like you're on fire over there Dublin way--just on fire. [it's so great to read about, my love.. it warms this heart too]
.. okay, a very quick "afterthought" to that "Anyhow" pitch I just made you..

VIOLET FLOWER'S CHANTEUSE UPDATE UPDATE:
1. I did take my silk coral 1960 chanteusie dress back to the tailor on the Upper East Side. I told her that her husband did a beautiful job.. but.. uh.. it could fit better.
Well, at first, the woman just said: NO. Then.. [as is usual with these two].. the husband talked to her.. [in Korean].. and she said I should try it on.
I did, and showed them what I thought could happen at the top.. how the shoulders could be taken in.. [so that the darts are in the right place].. [so that I could forego the chicken cutlet situation]
Well, the husband went on some tirade or other.. on and on and on he went, exclaiming things in Korean.. [and I knew things were not looking too good].. so. No. They COULD NOT do anything with the top. [for some reason].. [and in my mind I thought: Plan B: chicken cutlets, then]
THEN.. I showed them what might happen with the lower portion of the dress.. and the man started pinning the darts in the back.
.. then she said I needed to LOSE weight.
[?????????????????????]
I pointed out to her that she was "taking in" the dress, not "letting it out."
.. then she said that if they did that.. well, then when I sat down the dress would rip. [and I'm just talking about making the dress fit correctly].. [that's ALL I'm trying to do]
THEN she said, after the fitting, that THAT'S IT. Once they did this, I could NOT complain to them again. End of Story.
[how does she maintain any customers? I'm wondering]
.. so.. I guess I'll see how this turns out.
2. OH: I bought chicken cutlets. [yeah] At Victoria's Secret. [oh, they call them "chicken cutlets" at V.S.] [as opposed to "fillets," I mean] So, anyway, I brought them home, and it seems they give you two options. One is if you really want to look, uh, you know.. "bigger." And one is much more modest. [which is probably what I'll need for my End of the World coral dress. [probably] Of course, in a fitted dress I don't think I'd look all that different, but the dress would just fit better.
[pretty sure]
Oh, also: on the "bigger" option, it seems they had two "righties" in there, as opposed to a "rightie" and a "leftie."
[figures]
.. I now have to take them back, and have this matter addressed. [you know.. just in case I want to go for that Jayne Mansfield look at some point] [one never knows]
[or if I'm planning on driving extra fast, maybe]
[just thought I'd slide that one in there].. [after all, maybe if Jayne had been wearing--
[never mind]
.. so, that's all the Chanteuse News that's "fit" to print. [I think there's a pun in there somewhere] Now, if I could just find myself some decent jazz musicians I might be in business. [oh, along with the slight matter of getting over my stage fright].. [I'm actually "ignoring" that issue for now]
alright, my beloved. With the new year comes the last leg of your Euro tour.. and on to the States. [I'm really looking forward to that]
[I'll keep you posted on my writing thing, too].. [almost ready with that]
.. alright.. another kiss for good luck, and a wonderful celebration, my angel.. x..

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. okay, I'm all distracted this evening, so here I am again.
[my love, how are you?]
.. a friend suggested that this Korean tailor woman is jealous of me. I never think of that since I don't feel I'm in such a great place with things, generally speaking, and so for someone to be jealous of me entirely confuses me. Then again, I have a feeling that woman says all these "choice" things to all her customers. [seems like] She probably loves to see them storming out of there, all insulted. But for me, I just see her as a real good character sketch that might come in handy some day. Yeah, like for a book or a film called
The Passive Aggr--
or no
She Took In Your Dress Too Much On Purpose
[subtitled: The Horror of Improper Tailoring]
[actually, my love.. don't you have a line about "half a dress?"]
yeah, I saw your performance, my angel. Of Anyhow, I mean. I had a real good laugh. REAL good. [thanks for that]
.. let me transcribe the new lyrics, actually..
"Anyhow"
It's a shame, it's a pity
The way you treat me now
I know you can’t forgive me
But forgive me anyhow
The ending got so ugly
I even heard you say
That you never ever loved me
But could you love me anyway?
I dreamed about you baby
You were wearing half your dress
I know you have to hate me
But could you hate me less?
I've used up all my chances
And you’ll never take me back
But there ain’t no harm in asking
Could ya' cut me one more slack?
I’m naked and I’m filthy
And there’s sweat upon my brow
And both of us are guilty
Anyhow
Ah, you told me things you'd like to do
which I would not allow
But I've changed my mind, and I'm tellin' you
that I'd like to do them now
[real cool interlude with Neil Larsen, and Mitch Watkins]
Oh, mercy, baby, mercy
I admit I am the worst
And you do deserve to hurt me
but not so hard at first
You say your lover keeps you busy
with his acrobatic moves
Hey, don't call unless you miss me
I don't need that kind of news
It's a shame and it's a pity
I know you can't forgive me
The ending got so ugly
You never ever loved me
I dream about you baby
I know you have to hate me
I'm naked and I'm filthy
But both of us are guilty
Have mercy on me..
.. actually, I'm picking up on a, uh, "theme" here. Now, as I recall, there's another song of yours where you indicate.. [to whomever]
well here:
You want to change the way I make love,
I want to leave it alone
.. yeah, I can see that. You're in a certain groove with things, and so.. yeah, I can see that.
but now, well
Ah, you told me things you'd like to do
which I would not allow
But I've changed my mind, and I'm tellin' you
that I'd like to do them now
.. yeah, so, it does seem you've changed your mind somewhat, huh?
.. yeah, I could see that happening too. You resist at first.. but.. well.. once the Genie's out of the bottle, as it were..
.. so.. yes, my angel. I think I see what happened.
[actually, I feel like mauling you now]
[give it some time, that'll probably grow on you too]
.. alright, my divine. Maybe I can sleep now that I'm done with that. [no, not mauling you (alas)--transcribing your lyrics].. [which, as you know, I like to do]
[oh, and it sounds like the crowd was really having fun with this rendition too]
.. okay, so.. here's my tender good-night kiss.. x.. (or good morning kiss, as the case may be.. xx x

bleh. There went the post. (!)
.. well.. just to say, have a wonderful time tomorrow night. I do hope you had a good trip out to Istanbul, and that you're enjoying the much milder weather.
I was to head into Gotham this morning, but it's been raining cats 'n dogs.. [no chickens I noticed, though].. so
bleh.
.. anyway, my angel.. regardless of the weather, I feel the warmth of the sun where ever you are.. [even in cold Dublin].. which is to say, I feel your warmth, my love.
okay. [I'm still getting over having just lost a very nice post]

but first, I'll send this little kiss to you, my angel.. x.. (it's a good traveler).. (just as all my kisses are.. x xx.. ).. (I'm in good with Cupid, in that respect)..
.. as for the painting, it came to mind since its interior feels a bit "Turkish" to me.. (actually, in this scene Hamlet makes some pretty lewd puns.. and so this could also be a reference to Anyhow).. (could be).. (or there could even be another reason for this choice).. well, maybe you'll be a bit "pumped" from your Istanbul show tonight.. so
here's what I put together for you..

.. only, instead of Peter Lawford introducing this, imagine it’s Hotpants. [just had to say his name at least once]
[I’m pretty sure Marilyn was soused, by the way].. [couldn’t help but notice]
.. oh, and instead of Marilyn’s singing “Mr. President”.. imagine..
well.. here’s the new script..
Marilyn Monroe [you know, all breathy-like]:

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Field Commander Cohen,
Happy Birthday to you..
.. thanks Field Commander Cohen..
.. for all the things you’ve done..
.. the battles that you’ve won..
.. the way you deal with [the money people]..
.. [and any other problems that spoil the fun]..
.. so, thank you.. so much..

Happy Birthday to you,

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. my love, how are you?
.. I know it's early morning already in Bucharest, and it's your birthday.. and.. well, I can't stop thinking about you. [although that's not necessarily unusual for me]
.. still, I wanted to write you a little something for your actual birthday, even though I guess I already did your official birthday post. [actually, I just saw a Marilyn movie where she wears glasses the whole time] [she was a hoot]
.. so, anyway.. Bucharest.
.. actually, that's quite a fancy looking square you've got going there, my angel. Oh, and I like the little "report" Jarkko posted. And finally I have a sense of the meal plan.
.. now, it sounds like they're bragging about giving you eight rooms, plus your room.. but, I mean.. when you factor in all the crew, wardrobe, tech, musicians, etc.. that actually comes to 17 people per room.
[okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit]
[still, it does sound a bit cozy]
.. anyway, my angel.. I did a quick wiki-scan on Bucharest, and I just wanted to remind you.. [although I'm a bit late with this, I guess].. but, especially since they seem to have you way off somewhere in your own wing, or something.. but
I mean, it is Bucharest.. which, aside from being a booming cultural center.. [I just love that it's been called "little Paris," my love] .. still, my angel, it is home to.. well
Vlad III Prince of Wallachia (1431–1476).. member of the House of Drăculești, a branch of the House of Basarab, also known by his patronymic name: Dracula.
[end: wiki quote]
[oh, and that's Vlad the Impaler, by the way]
.. and yet, he was a real mensch. (!?)
[who knew??]
.. so
yeah.
[never judge a person by his propensity for impaling, I always say]
.. anyway, luckily you have Hotpants around. See, I was a bit frightened for you, but then I remembered Pants, and I felt better for some reason. I could almost imagine him sleeping outside your room, probably. Or, not sleeping--keeping watch, sort of thing. [maybe with some garlic around his neck] [just in case]
[look, you can't feed me a name like "Hotpants," or "Pants" [especially] and think that's going to go "unforaged," as it were]
[I mean, let's face it]
.. anyway, I do feel better knowing he's around you.. (my love)
.. oh, so.. I'm imagining your "delusions of grandeur" when you awake on your birthday, and look out your window at
CONSTITUTION SQUARE
[I have a feeling you're going to do an extra-superb job on Saturday night because of that, actually]
[I mean, a little grandiosity goes a long way, after all]
.. alright, but: let's talk about me.
[I don't know why I had to write that, but it just made me laugh]
.. speaking of.. [me, I mean].. I'm to Gotham tomorrow, and I actually do have a real "me" day planned.. starting with my hair guy, who always makes me feel just peachy.
.. of course, I will have to face the music, and pick up my silk coral dress tomorrow, too. But.. I mean.. I'm only picking it up.. what could she possibly have against me for doing that??
[I'm sure Vlad the Impaler wouldn't have allowed himself to be bullied like this]
.. [you know, they say he spoke softly, and carried a very sharp implement].. [actually, with the exception of the "softly" part, I think I just described that tailor's wife]
[come to think of it, I am always checking for where her husband's scissors are when I go in there]
[I noticed her husband likes to keep an eye on them, too]
[and here I was worried about you, my darling]
.. alright, my angel. I guess I need to head for bed.
.. oh. It looks like you may have a bit of rain on your birthday today, but Saturday will be sunny.. so that's good news.
.. okay.. well.. I wish I could have a sweet dream of you tonight.. [it's been a while].. so.. we'll see..
.. have a lovely day today, and here again is my tender kiss to you, my love.. x .. (.. xx x..

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. alright, my love.. just one more birthday offering for you.. in honor of Vlad, and Bucharest.. and what a good host Vlad must have been.. [and still is, no doubt].. [now that I think about it].. [oh, and I'm sure all his guests are still around, too].. [now that I think about it]
.. now, don't bother going "FULL SCREEN" on this, since it's lousy resolution.. but it does give a good feel for this [very funny] Polanski flick.. [as opposed to the official trailer, which annihilates Polanski's more subtle manner of humor]
.. [he's the "vampire expert"]..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAXVDH_1q_M
.. speaking of sharp implements.. (my angel).. I advise you and Pants having large swords on hand like what Polanski's character and the professor had. I mean, okay.. you may have gone scot free as as they say on your first night in Bucharest, but you still have a ways to go.. [my angel].. so.. [just to be on the safe side]
[also, my love.. you may want to skip doing Anyhow, if that's what you had planned].. [I'm thinking the "cut me one more slack" line might have a slightly different connotation in Bucharest].. [seems like]
[also, you may want to skip "I'm Your Man," too].. [for similar reasons]
.. okay.. a very very happy birthday, my love.. x.. (I'll be thinking of you while in Gotham)

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. my angel, how are you? I hope you had a wonderful time tonight.. [it seems so, from what I've gathered thus far]
.. as for me, it's quite late, and I need to get to sleep.. but..
.. I don't know. [I want to kiss you, is the thing]
.. you know, I may have been premature with that "grandiosity" business. That was before I saw the Verona Arena. [my God]
.. my love, it just seems all wrong that I can't be there.. just all wrong.
[sigh]
.. you should "summon" me. I should be "summoned." Every woman, at one time in her life, should be "summoned."
[I await my summoning, then]
[with my bugle and my drum]
.. anyway--oh. I wasn't able to make it to the dreaded tailor in time yesterday.. so no "impaling".. and no End of the World coral dress. [a name that now makes more sense]
oh, but I did exchange the chicken cutlets, which I was told were not actually chicken cutlets, but "inserts." Chicken cutlets, the woman said, you actually adhere to the skin, and can be worn under a strapless dress.. whereas "inserts" are tucked into a bra.
.. however, I prefer the term chicken cutlets, even if I now know I'm being inaccurate with that. Oh, and I stuck with the "inserts" for now. Or, no, not "stuck," as that would be
[this is actually getting confusing]
.. anyway, my angel.. I really am sleepy, and need to call it a day.. but
.. oh, I just came upon this painting, as I was thinking of the Italian Renaissance, and Verona.. and it seems Paolo Veronese was born there, but his renown has to do with being one of the "triumvirate of pre-emeinent Venetian painters of the late Renaissance," which also includes Titian and Tintoretto. [as cited in wiki]
.. oh, and Veronese is known as a preeminent colorist, which certainly appears to be so with this particular reproduction.
.. there's such a richness to the colors, and the paintings deep shadows..
.. and there's that salmon and blue sky I've been writing you about.. (that I've seen so often over our lake).. that to me feels just so soothing.
I just thought of that line of yours
or, no. It's a shadow of a line, as I'm not recounting it entirely. It's like I hear your voice singing it, though.. although just barely
about something going on forever?
.. alright, my love.. safe travels, and this tender kiss of mine.. x.. (.. xx x..

Leonard, my love.. how are you?
.. well, it sounds like you chased the clouds away, brought out the heaven's brightest stars.. [however one would care to interpret that].. and charmed all of Verona.. even withstanding considerable winds (!)
(a little kiss for that.. x.. )..
.. I'm feeling a bit better, having had a nice birthday dinner in the city, which included seeing my brother, whom I seldom see. He was in good form. (quite funny.. and sweet).. (oh, and he brought me a long-stemmed rose).. (oh, and whole packet of poems he's been writing)
Anyway, I feel I have no choice but to throw myself into this new website, and into this singing I'm planning on doing, and just see what happens.. since just moping around seems a poor alternative. [although I've given it my due consideration] [and effort]
.. as to my little trip to the End of the World--oh, customs imposes a pretty steep fee or what-have-you on computer stuff, and so I really can't afford to take my editing equipment.. so all that will have to wait.
.. as to other India matters.. I'm not sure I'll be meeting up with the eight hundred year old yogi dude while over there, but if I do, do you have any questions for him, my angel?
[personally, I'd like to know what kind of skin products he uses]
oh. Speaking of those type of matters:
VIOLET FLOWER'S CHANTEUSE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE:
1. okay, that's it for Mad the Tailor's Wife. [it really is]

yeah.
[it's good the scissors were out of sight, I guess]
[oh, or I might have used them]
2. oh. So, since I thought I'd wear my 50's black cocktail dress for my birthday.. [which is also fitted].. I thought I'd "test drive" the chicken cutlets.
.. the funny thing is, I did feel quite a bit safer racing down the Palisades Parkway.. [with all the faster drivers] [doing at least 75 mph, as compared with the 50 mph "limit"] [yeah: 50]
actually, the very fastest drivers do at least 80 or 85, but I figure they're the ones you see getting ticketed on the side of the road all the time, so my approach is to do a bit less than those guys. [so far that's worked].. [even without the chicken cutlets]
.. but, yeah. I actually did feel a bit "safer".. [more "padded" I guess]
[??]
.. visually, however, it may have helped the dress fit a bit better, but unless you wear these things under something tight, I really don't think it changes things all that much. Still, they were very "comfy."
[who knew??]
.. so.. yeah: chicken cutlets are "safer" feeling.. and comfy.
3. I did buy some dark blue "birthday" tights with a large rose pattern printed on them. [they look pretty wild, actually]
.. so.. that's about it on the "chanteuse" fron--oh, no, wait:
4. it's official. I now have a post office box under the name: Violet Flower.
.. so, I guess my partial transformation is complete then. It was odd when the person from the post office called and said: Violet?
[it actually felt right, though]
.. so.. yeah. I even have a new email address under that name. Now, all I have to do is one of those "doing business as" thingies, and I really am operating.. [as an artist, at least].. as Violet Flower.
.. you know, I've been planning these things for a while now, but I think I was dragging my feet on the whole thing, as I wasn't quite sure what that would feel like. But, so far, I have to say, it's sort of fun reinventing oneself. Well, not that I feel I'm different, exactly. Still, using this name in a more official capacity would change things, I think.
[I guess I'll see]
[oh. end: chanteuse update]
.. actually, I have a feeling that for my website I'll be starting with Polanski, since I love so many of his flicks.. [though not recently, I don't think]..
but, it seems like the place to start. I do wish he had used your music somewhere.. [but, alas: no] [not as far as I know, I at least] So, as I said, that will no doubt have to be a separate section. Actually, I'm planning on watching the Altman film again. I remember the first time I saw it.. I guess I must have rented it.. but I wasn't expecting your music, and so was very happily surprised. (!)
.. so.. now you're in Toulon. Actually.. [given I often think in titles].. "Too Long in Toulon" just sprung to mind. [oh, so, it's good you're just doing one night, then].. [my angel]
.. and actually.. [having just done my five-minute wiki-scan].. something supporting my Too Long in Toulon sense of things is the fact the city is featured in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables.
[that can't be a good sign, my love]
oh, and check this little wiki-bit out.. [a little tie-in with our old friend Charles V]:
In 1524, as part of his longtime battle against Emperor Charles V and the Holy Roman Empire, King Francis I of France
completed a powerful new fort, the Tour Royale, Toulon, at the entrance of the harbour. However, a few months later
the commander of the new fort sold it to the commander of an Army of the Holy Roman Empire, and Toulon surrendered.
.. okay, it's nice that he was fighting the good fight against Charles V.. but.. uh.. sounds like Francis was a little short in the "assigning important tasks" department.
[seems like]
.. actually, here's another little section supporting my Too Long in Toulon thesis here.. [it's really packed, this little wiki history, given Toulon's a major strategic naval port/etc]..
okay, so..
King Louis XIV was determined to make France a major sea power. In 1660, his Minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert ordered
Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban to build a new arsenal and to fortify the town. In 1707, during the War of the Spanish
Succession, Toulon successfully resisted a siege by the Imperial Army led by the Duke of Savoy and Prince Eugene. How-
ever in 1720, the city was ravaged by the black plague, coming from Marseilles. Thirteen thousand people, or half the
population, died.
.. okay, well, at least you're not doing Marseilles. [my angel]
[we have to count our blessings where we can]
.. oh, and.. last here on this little historical sojourn into the travails and triumphs of Toulon..
In 1790, following the French Revolution, Toulon became the administrative centre of the département of the Var.
The leaders of the city, however, were largely royalists, and they welcomed the arrival of a British fleet. At the siege
of Toulon, the British were expelled by a French force whose artillery was led by a young captain, Napoleon Bonaparte.
To punish Toulon for its rebellion, the town lost its status as department capital and was briefly renamed Port-la-
Montagne.
.. okay, so.. unlike the Stroppendrager situation in Ghent, it seems our Touloners were rightfully "punished." Now, I'm not entirely sure how they may have felt about this Montagne dude.. [need to look him up, I guess]... but I'm pretty sure it would be similar to having New York City renamed Bayonne or something.
[and, I mean, that really does hurt]
[ouch]
.. as for the Bonaparte, uh, part.. it would seem.. [my angel].. that you can easily fill your "grandiosity" quotient.. [which is just so helpful especially when performing in these large outdoor venues].. but, yeah, you can do that just knowing the man really did defend the place by kicking some serious brit butt. [let's face it]
[sorry to be so crude with that]
.. but.. yeah. I think that should see you through this Toulon stretch.. [my beloved].. [although you might consider obtaining the Bonaparte-type hat, maybe]
[just for Toulon, though]
[I did tell you I'm just a barrel full of new ideas]..
[oh, and I'm sure you can find hats like that all over France, too]
.. alright, my love. I really do think I'll be okay, if I just stay focused, and.. well, if I don't "analyze" too much. [it seems my life falls to pieces under that sort of scrutiny].. [seems like]
.. so.. [to re-use a Roger Corman quote I used in the story of Agent Longing and Violet]:
When all else fails: fake it.
.. yeah, so.. stiff upper lip, and all that.
.. now, I don't think the following film sequence is about faking it, exactly.. [or maybe it is] Anyway, I thought I'd leave you with a little something meant to get you a bit psyched for tonight.. [it might even last you into Paris, maybe]..
.. it has nothing to do with France, or Toulon.. [although it is on the water].. but given some innocuous bit of something I was just reading, this just randomly came to mind.. [and you know the rules here: just go with it, no questions asked].. [sort of like if Charles V were in charge of totally skewed thinking].. [which, quite probably, he was].. [now that I think about it]
.. in any case.. you, my love, are the star in this sequence.. [obviously].. and I thought Pants could be your sidekick. Bublitchi, meanwhile, I thought could be "Kono".. and Mas, of course, would be "Chin Ho."
[I mean, who else but Mas for that?]
.. and I, of course.. am "the creator".. of this little world.. known as The Land of Violet Flower.
.. okay, my angel.. once again, I send you my tender kiss.. x.. [just don't stay too long in Toulon] [would be my advice]
(I miss you).. (xx x..

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. Leonard, my love.. I'm up late, not feeling well.. and I somehow didn't like how that last post I wrote was reading.. so I deleted it.
.. maybe I'm just tired, or maybe it's just as well I deleted it, I don't know.
.. anyway.. I wish you well in Paris, my angel.. and I guess I should try and get some sleep.
.. you know, to tell you the truth, I really am having a difficult time right now. I feel I will have to stop writing you, and get focused on what I need to do next.. but I'm feeling sad about that. I guess it's that I've shared so much of myself with you these past months.. [I don't even know how many months, at this point].. and I don't even know what it might have meant to you. I do hope at least some of it was meaningful.. or entertaining, at least.
.. in any case, I'm rather sad.. and confused, even.. as I don't know what it means to stop.. how it will feel.
It's strange the internet. I mean, it's created new ways of communicating, I guess.. but there's always this question of what is "real." I mean, I know my feelings are real.. and I've been sincere in that.. but when I press the "submit" button after writing you one of these little love notes, I don't know what happens then.. how such of my sincerity translates, since it's obviously not the same as my writing you or speaking to you in private.
.. anyway, it's meant a great deal to me to feel that maybe you've been there for me.. and that maybe some of this has meant something to you.
I do hope, when things are not as hectic for you, that you'll want to see the writing I've done.. and that you'll contact me through Jarkko, I guess.. or whoever has my info. here.
.. actually, I hadn't intended this being my last post on this thread, but maybe just now it needs to be. I'll still be around, and will no doubt do an update, once I have something to update. But, I'm needing to prepare for this trip.. which, in a sense starts with my seeing you perform in Austin--your very first performance in the States.. and then I'm to leave here for a while. You know, my "End of the World" trip.
.. God, I really wish I were feeling better just now.. it's only making this harder.
.. anyway, my love.. have a wonderful time performing in Paris, and the other cities you'll be moving on to. You are this beacon for so many.. and you are this "great love" where I'm concerned. (I'll not need another)

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. my love, I'm not saying I'm "officially" back.. since I really really do need to get things going mentally speaking with regard to this site I'm starting up. However, I couldn't leave things so sad seeming.
.. maybe I could compromise, and come here now and then. I think what happens is I put this pressure on myself to put together something worth reading [hopefully] and it can start to weigh on me, more than you'd think actually. I mean, hopefully these posts don't seem too "fretted" over.. but.. sometimes they are.
.. anyway, it looks like you'll have finished your first night in Paris.. and the Olympia Theatre looks just divine.
oh, I just read that post I removed, and I guess since I was feeling so ill and down last night, I just couldn't see anything at all clearly. I think it's rather nice, actually.. nice for Paris. (and quite romantic)
.. so, here it is again.
I love you, my angel.. x.. (just know I'm thinking about you, whether I'm here or not.. and if I'm not here.. just know it's toward some form of progress, hopefully.. and maybe you can send me some luck)
PARIS 2012
.. my darling, my love.. how are you?.. you must be in Paris by now.
.. you know, I've been thinking that maybe it’s time you do As Time Goes By again. I mean, that’s what Ingrid and Bogey shared in that film--Casablanca, I mean.. (their precious time in Paris)..
.. actually, I worked on that song enough that I really think I could sing it now. I really think I could.. [my angel]
.. anyway. I'm procrastinating. I actually should catch some last rays, and head out to our lake.. but I'm thinking about you, I guess. You in Paris.
[you know, that combination really messes me up. You and Paris, I mean--in that "I gotta' have you" sort of way]
(remember this?

.. so, yes, my angel.. I do think you should consider As Time Goes By.
.. I think you could even do Anyhow without the, uh, “embellishments.” .. [the French would understand]
.. you know, it’s funny about that song.. some people don’t see it as tongue-in-cheek, although I have a hard time fathoming that. I mean, to me that only enhances its sexiness.
.. oh, and, of course, Light as the Breeze.
[the Parisians will need to hear that one, for sure]
oh, and maybe

[oh, and as referenced briefly in that: Joan of Arc!]
Anyway, my love.. I know I already wrote quite a bit here during last winter's holidays concerning you and I in Paris, given your press conference there for Old Ideas.
.. I just looked back at some of that.. and saw again that lovely Montmartre apartment of ours.. (in that flurry of snow)..
.. oh, and that sexy red dress I was wearing, which you were too busy to really notice.. [a la Polanski's film, Frantic]
.. oh, and that stunning, erotic dance sequence from American in Paris.. [with Leslie Caron and Gene Kelly]..
oh, and Mireille Mathieu's wonderful rendition of Sous le Ciel de Paris..
actually.. [to those interested].. somewhere on page 113 on this thread starts my little trip to Paris.. [or possibly even earlier]
[there was a lot of "drinkification" going on at that time as well, I noticed]
.. but, yeah.. it's funny, my angel. I mean, I know I wasn't actually there with you in Paris, and yet I have these "memories"..
[but, no.. it's not quite the same, I know]
(sigh)
.. anyway, my dearest.. I guess I should go.
.. but first, my tender kiss.. x.. (xx.. x xx.x. x).. (I’m jealous of all those Parisians).. (I really am..
oh, and I'll re-post this one, too, as it really does conjure the place..
(I love you, my angel.. have a wonderful time in Paris!).. (xx.. x..

Re: Daddy's Little Princess.
.. Leonard, my love.. I guess your second show’s just over in Paris, and I've been thinking about you.. and sending you my very best wishes today.
I don’t have much to say at the moment—I mean, that I haven’t already said. I just thought it might be nice for you to find a warm greeting here, in case you check in before going to sleep tonight.
.. oh, and I thought I’d leave you with this to ponder, since it does concern the “Parisians”.. (who do seem to know something about the romantic side of things).. (much to the befuddlement of our charming French star, here)..
.. I’ve often felt perplexed about just such things myself..
[those French]
.. my tender kiss to you, my love.. x.. (and have a wonderful last night in Paris tomorrow!.. xx x.. xx..
