Validation Refusal!

i went to get myself validated
it was much anticipated
the day i became eligible
the price was negligible

i strutted over the finest strutterers
i silenced the most muttering mutterers
my lover bedecked with shining jewels
my wealth the burden of thousands of mules

looming large i took my seat
when all of a sudden i heard on repeat
validation refusal! validation refusal!
how dare they defy me with a recusal!

so i went home a much smaller man
my lover left me according to plan
what defined me before was no more
my wealth my status a strange apparatus

now next time a validation comes by
my stake i claim in the pie in the sky
i'll take my seat slowly and whisper
thanks for nothing! I mean that, mister!
