I was reading a Leonard Cohen biography and it mentioned a supposed 'lost album' called Songs For Rebecca. It included 6 songs, including an early version of 'Came So Far For Beauty'.
Does anyone know anything about this album like song titles or the recordings themselves?
Songs for Rebecca
Hello there,
I'd heard about the "lost album" aswell, but I couldn't remember where... I first started checking in some biographies I've got at home, but finally found some interesting information on the Web.
Feel free to go to:
http://www.uqtr.ca/~bertrank/cohenlive/ ... ebecca.htm
Or check http://www.leonardcohenlive.com/
then click on "Catalogues - storeroom"
and finally on "Songs for Rebecca (1975), of course!
Hope you guys find these links helpfull...
Best regards,
Maarten

Five songs were performed and recorded in Bryn Mawr, November 1975. You can find it in trade regularly.

It's great show, and Don't Go Home With Your Hard-On better than Phil Spector's version.
That's one of CDRs I am owing to you, lyzzytish
Don't worry, in November I will get my first payment, and you're on my priority list one year now

Not to worry, Tom
~ I understand to the max! I even cited you [without name] to someone who became incensed and insulting with me
, at not receiving in a timely enough manner to suit their expectations
, what I'd promised to send [despite my intermittent, solicited and unsolicited, reassurances that the items were still forthcoming]. I know how 'life' can manage to wedge itself between promises, and promises fulfilled....and that trust remains at the base. I also know that good things are worth waiting for. I further know that I've lived this long without what you'll be sending, and that a red-letter day at the mailbox still awaits, and that's good enough for me
! I still look forward to it
, and am delighted to hear that this will be part of it
.
Love,
Lyzzytish
