I can't direct you to a long version of the song with LC singing, but here is some background about the lyrics.winnie_1957 wrote:I am looking for a long version of the song "Un as der Rebbe singt ..." von LC. The version I found on Youtube is only one minute long.

I also only could open Arlene's clip, but there apparently is another one on facebook.
What memories! 1976 LC came to Vienna again, and there was such a run on his concert, (Express, June 14, 1976) that a second concert had to be scheduled.
---
It was during his 1976 stay in Vienna that he gave a free concert to the occupiers of the Arena, an event commemorated thirty years later, in June 2006 by many who had been there (I was no longer in Vienna then but read all about it in 1976 since friends sent me reports—now all lost) It was during this free Arena concert that he sang “Un as der Rebbe schloft”…which has been close to my heart ever since and which must have inspired (I have no inside knowledge) a successful 1979 Austrian album of Yiddish songs by Geduldig and Thimann: Kum Aher Du Filosof.
Another interesting reference to the Occupation of the Arena — available online:
Der Falter, May 24, 2006 (“They still enthuse about the concert Leonard Cohen gave the Arena as a present.”
-- a site with interviews of actors, musicians, architects, etc who were there! )
