That's a lot of money between so few people.

I don't know if you've seen this before but several corporations rank higher than many countries economically, it looks like some of the people you've listed could also go on this list. http://news.mongabay.com/2005/0718-worlds_largest.html

20 Turkey 301,950
21 Austria 290,109
22 Wal-Mart Stores 287,989
23 BP 285,059
24 Exxon Mobil 270,772
25 Royal Dutch/Shell Group 268,690

26 Indonesia 257,641
27 Saudi Arabia 250,557
28 Norway 250,168
29 Denmark 243,043

So it appears - I don't really have good understanding of this as money is such an abstract thing, that BP is more valuable than the entire country of Saudi Arabia.

Thanks Cate. Money is just a phase we’re going through.

Finance Will Fail

The cancer eats at it
Our greedy dead world
We always deny shit
No Peace flag unfurled

It’s the reason for war
A grand Christmas lunch
The pain Bangalore
The rich have no hunch

We laugh it off smug
It won’t affect me
It’s the ol’ Western drug
Killing our trees

They clear everglades
Hamburger beef roams
McDonald’s persuades
Keep up with the Jones’

A ring on her finger
Her nails of hard plastic
The loans they all linger
But her perm is fantastic

Instead of repent
You board ocean liner
Your guilt is all bent
Your breasts made in China

The company’s leader
Duping your soul
He says he will feed her
He shits in her bowl

Of the rich we make kings
Our queen Lady Ga Ga
To your money she sings
The predictable blah blah

But we read of their lives
Wouldn’t miss it for quids
Nothing else to survive
Murdoch never forbids

And time it runs fast
The businessman kicks
From a hollow little past
We buy his popular tricks

Living prophets sing out
Don’t hear it on I-pod
But to us there’s no doubt
We’re not gonna die, God

And Dylan and Cohen
And Morrison confess
They know we are goin’
To some cultural distress

But you scoff in the comfort
Of your California beach
Can’t hear Yemen’s trumpet
In your clergyman’s speech

And I tell myself this
Little rich man accrue
You’re in the abyss
In the law of the new

The answer’s unsteady
The answer is mute
Your hope is not ready
See, the poor get the loot

Our finance will fail
Sure as earth orbits sun
The critical detail
Is how it shall come

The red sail
The tri-colour
The hand-me-down
The unicorn
The whale
Blue sea spray
Yellow dungeon
Green fall
White hot sun
Black gloom
Instrument
Gold and silver
Ray
Ra
Light

In the afternoon

Good Shabbos
