I never realised my John's left arm was so much longer than his right! That could account for a lot of things

Is John a policeman Margaret? :) By the way I like your black and yellow outfit a lot. Wear that in Haiger and I have to buy you a drink!

How can we not mention BVB Ken when you are bringing black and yellow stickers for everyone to wear?
You can leave them all behind, we won't say a word about football that weekend and then maybe, must maybe, I will not have to keep taking my wallet out at the bar after all.

bernadine...i don't think our organiser realises the growing doubts and concerns that many of the participants are having over the continual bvb postings and other football related posting up on facebook about our walking weekend...as you can see some participants of the walking weekend were angry and concerned enough to hold a demonstration and set up a picket line outside our weekend meeting......hopefully commonsense will have prevailed come september...but until we have the assurances signed sealed and delivered that we requested from the organiser i can see a summer of discontent looming on the horizon....

The only thing that really worries me about this photo is that I think that Dave is seriously on a diet. I had my last ice-cream today and no more for the rest of this summer.

Ken, I do fully understand your concern about that bvb and neema issue. Therefore I would like to plead for a little change: LC SILENT Walking Weekend! These little change can help to make this world a better place with no more wars.... :D

ute....that's a brilliant idea.....but first we have a lot of gossip to catch up on so maybe we could meet up somewhere before the weekend officially starts and then after all the gossiping is over we could then go and join the silent walkers on their silent walks and silent dinners.......ta ken

Ken - why do you call Hans Ute - Ute is oblivion in case you forgot. I am sure by the time of the walking weekend you will have forgotten that there should be no BVB talk.

I had a lovely time in Liverpool and Chester. Got to see John Lennon's house and Paul McCartney's.

Ken played a blinder showing me around and driving to Chester and it was lovely seeing Dave, Margaret and John again.

I have at this moment a pan of scouse cooking!

Sorry Hans, as you can see from the list of people attending, there are some Irish going on the walking weekend, so you can forget about silence, we don't know the meaning of the word. We were born with the gift of the gab... we have no choice but to talk.

As you can see from the photo below, my BVB indocrination started last September, as Leonards tour was over for me then, I needed something else to occupy my time. As soon as the team get some Irish fans, they win the Championship :).

So, I am afraid , you will have to put up with some football talk from me too.

I would also like to point out that I do own more than one jacket

...apologies to both ute and hans........i'm not as regular as i use to be around here....still don't know where i got the idea from that basecamp was ute.....so it's hans i have to thank for coming up with the silent weekend idea.....thanks hans it's a super idea.......and i'm sure if ute has an alternative idea it will be just as good as hans'....phew! hope that gets me outta trouble.....

......btw come september the excitement amongst the group with the start of mr dylan's european tour only a couple of weeks away could possibly be too much for most of us to keep to the proposed vow of silence......maybe we could have a designated period of say an hour each evening during our evening meal when we could discuss mr dylan's upcoming tour....and henning if we agree to this ......PLEASE NO BVB TALK DURING THE DYLAN HOUR

Paula, I just clicked large on that picture of you - it's ace! - your expression - you look so tough and clever. (No, I swear I am not being funny.)

Y'all better learn sign language pretty quick if it's to be a silent weekend ...

Bernadine - that photo of September 29, 2010 brings back fond memories. We had Leonard play only 2 minutes away from the Westfalenstadium on a beautiful late summer day. The sun was with us :-)

Diane - the walking list 2011 without your name on it isn't as nice as it could be. You know there is always a last minute option for you.

Ken - how about a compromise. We could talk about BD and it stands for all things that we fancy next to Leonard Cohen.

Bernadine I know that I made you swear by the health of Lucas Barrios mother never to publish what Leonard said about our BVB when we were talking to him in the black and yellow room formerly known as the green room.

But on September 18 in Cologne after the match Hannover against BVB which the walking group will be happy to watch in a bar with big screen you are released from that oath and I want you to stand up and proudly inform the crowd of that wonderful remark of Leonard. From the very beginning it was my plan to keep that for a very special moment. Roll on September 18 !
