....i think there could well be some kinda space daddy up there in the sky after all…ever since I arrived on schinoussa I have had the distinct feeling that guiding spirit is trying to tell me something…..facebook friends will already know about my giant heart patterned las vegas polyester curtains and also my heart infested shower curtains……yesterday as soon as I sat down on livadi beach there right besides was a hearted shaped stone looking straight up at me…..with all these mysterious signs of love coupled with the industrial strength ouzo that they are serving on the island this year I think that maybe I should pre-book an extra place on our September trip for my new greek bride…..

….if I do manage to return home still single without a greek bride and as long as bernadine promises never to mention BVB during our german trip then i will present her with my schinoussan stone heart along with the other stones from kamini beach on hydra that Leonard is reputed to have either sat on..or perhaps even made love on……….ta ken

Ken
Your story of the heart shaped stone brings back memories for Jean and myself . We had a similar experience while on holiday on a greek island . The only difference being because of our guiding spirit (ouzo) we not only made love on the stones on the beach we did it while we were stoned

wow!!!
...you are starting to sound desperate bernadine.....i thought i was way down the bottom of your list way behind phil, henning and all the members of the first and reserve teams of BVB .....i will be over seventy by then you know....so it's the old 'better to be an old man's darling than a young man's slave' thinking that is behind the proposal....it's quite likely that i may be needing assistance in the bathroom and personal hygiene department in 5 years you know.....could be even going slightly ga-ga and using smileys and the word 'awesome' to describe everything where and whenever possible...so you may need to come well prepared....ta ken

...a bird just shat on my laptop and i've nothing to wipe it off with so signing off

Ha ha Bernadine - your second thoughts are the best :-)

Ken - why would you go from heavily ga-ga to slightly ga-ga in five years ? Do you expect new medicine in that department ?

Only 6 seats left on the walking trip and only 3 months to go.

"6 seats"? What kind of walking tour is that, Henning?
Sounds like a senior citizens special.

Ok then. Enough of this fun and frivolity. It is time to get down to business.
This is a GERMAN walking tour and most of the guest at it will be german and they are officially a race of people that take their walking very seriously.

So keep us informed here please of what we need to bring with us to wear. What kind of tablets we need for our aches and pains afterwards.

Some useful german phrases would be appreciated too , so we can practise them before we get there.

How do you say in German.... Where is the sofa? Where is the bar? Where are the men?

6 places left? If i could fill those places with my choices, it would be with Joe, Anne, Pete, Diane, Mambo and a mystery guest

A mystery guest now that is something to ponder . Who would we go for if we had the choice ! I think it would have to be someone who is diplomatic, intelligent ,witty , charming , a joy to have around , life and soul of the party and most importantly rich . It is a pity I have already booked because I fit in to every category except the last one !

...just the thought of a few bed baths and the odd bit of bum wiping has made you change your mind....lucky i found out in time then....i think popeye the sailorman was not only a good example for eating up all your spinach but he also beat leonard cohen hands down in his understanding of women when he sang the the immortal words 'women is fickle'

Ah now Ken,
You know and I know it had nothing to do with me being fickle.
I made an offer and what do i get in return?
An offer of a job as a carer to an OAP. If you were to really consider my offer, you would have spoken about the trips we could make to your beloved Islands, the music we could argue over, the plays and films and art exhibitions we would be attending every other day.
So I know that you were rejecting me but most men would rather have an arm torn off than tell a woman to her face that they are not interested. As you said... birdshit happens... so I must humbly accept it

But as I said previously. I hope we will ALWAYS be friends :)

Word on a flier

Like bird waste on my wire
Like the junk of a two winged flyer
I have tried in my way to be free
Like the germ I had to duck
Like the aim at me it took
I have saved all the pictures just for thee

If I if I have been unkind
I hope you will let it go by
If I if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you

Like a pigeon still born
Like a rodent fed on corn
I have worn all my T shirts just for you

I saw a pigeon in a wooden hutch
It said to me do not even touch
And a pretty pigeon in a darkened door
It said to me do you want some more

Like bird waste on my wire
Like the junk of two winged flyer
I have tried in my way to be free
