Some additional information, this from the CD Baby site:
"Innovative, dark, indie blues rock versions of some of Leonard Cohen's greatest and lesser known songs. Leonard Cohen like you've never heard him before."

"Coming from a background of poets in her family, Nadia naturally graduated to lyrical emphasis in her songwriting. Her music has conscious lyrics that display interesting melodies while retaining their catchy hooks.
......With her second album, STRANGE SONG: The songs of Leonard Cohen, Nadia shares the role of producing and arranging with the help of the talented Uri Djemal of Madpan Studios.
Her second album hones her musical direction and sheds new light on the works of Leonard Cohen, bringing his music into a contemporary arena with a dark Indie rock flavor. With vocal range and unique musicality, Nadia's musical and song choices will surprise the most dedicated Cohen fan yet convert the superficial listener."
"We were broken then, but now we're borderline"

Just having a proper listen, and---
---WOW! that's refreshing! ---in a Grace Slick-meets-Lucinda Williams-meets -Leonard Cohen- in- the- Spector- era-meets--well....Nadia!

Her take on Came So Far for Beauty is particularly surprising. And I like the gender reversal in One of Us Cannot Be Wrong..seeing the world from a different angle...

Definitely worth the $8.91 iTunes price tag.

I am intriqued. I like so many others here am not too interested in covers of Leonard's songs except for a few.
But this album sounds interesting, especially with Anne's critique. I also love Nadia's choice of songs, not what you would expect. I think I wil check it out.

Hi, Marsha,
Unlike many here, I AM a dedicated LC cover/tribute fan. I am very glad to add this one to my collection.
Cheers!
Anne

(though not all the tracks are inspired--eg, Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye I could do without....
