It is very hard to come up with witty replies when you see the quality of the wit on this thread but I always say there are creators and appreciators, we both need each other

You are absolutely right we do need each other that is what keeps the thread going but please dont be too self critical . We are all creators when we post and we are all appreciators when we read them. I think the length of time this thread has lasted is a credit to everyone who has posted on it .

On a different subject how is this for a womans logic ;
I have struggled with the writing of poetry for sometime now .
The other day I was bemoaning that fact to my mother when she said;" don't worry about it the poetry will return as soon as you have something to worry about "

I have not visited this majestic thread for a while but as the sun is shining and I just asked two burly coppers to prod a man sleeping in a doorway I thought I would add my tuppence worth. (I did not ask them to prod the man just to wake him up but he had not moved for 6 hours – turns out he was alive and quite vocal ) I saw the copper whisper something under his breath, probably thanking me for getting him involved.

Anyway I just thought I would mention Greggs had run out of chocolate cup cakes, I don’t think it is fair they get you addicted and then stop making them. I had to have a doughnut instead xxx

Talking of cakes and desserts ....... where have all the rum babas gone? I have not seen them in the shops for years and they're never on any menus when we eat out. I miss my rum babas!

I think rum baba have fallen foul of some EU directive. I used to be able to get them at my local Turkish fine cuisine restaurant (next door to The Dew Drop Inn, Maple Road) an establishment within staggering distance from the pub so always filled with people at chucking out time. Ok it served mainly doner or shish kebabs but for me it is up market.

Any hoo they stopped selling them so I can only assume that the honey soaked doughnuts filled with real fake cream with a dubious cherry on the top are now no longer available and all they have are those things that look like shredded wheat and they are nowhere near as nice.

Perhaps the P.C brigade stop them being sold, 1 incase a under 16yr old bought one thinking they had real rum in them, 2 because they did not have real rum in. Who knows, but I ani't bothered, always thought they were awful, even more when I found out there were no REAL rum in them.

There used to be 15 custard creams in a packet but people complained that that the top one in the packet was usually broken (most likely due to transit), so the company now leave out the top one...thus there's only 14 in a packet now.
You learn something new everyday.
