(Pardon the intrusion.)
Never a virgin to speak of,
I clung fast to that second-sweetest fruit,
“love”.
Don’t know why I let you in my garden gate,
Offered you that overripe orange,
Flesh sticking to it as you picked it away.
Not like young love which picks clean,
Leaving no rind behind.

I liked this - I liked the image I have of the two in the garden. One watching the other eat the orange.
I suppose the second fruit could never taste as sweet as the first.

great name by the way

Hi Nonny
I suppose you have 'nonny 'left now
I enjoyed your fragment here .
On a humerous note I suggest that you should have kept your fruit covered and not be flashing them about and of course always Keep the gate closed
No point in closing the gate when the fruit is gone
