.. well, no.. unfortunately it's all dusty, that's why I wasn't sure how nice it was.. but I'm pretty sure it is.. I mean, once it's laundered and ironed by whomever would care to do that around here.. since, um.. well, my ironing tendencies are rather akin to Fran Lebowitz's writing tendencies.. so..

And is there any Forum "Captain" or moderator?
Hello Horse of babylon, you must beware of Dangermouse a very fierce moderator, actually top dog or should I say mouse around here, and a blow up doll which sorts of floats around the sky looking down on all of us
a rather peculiar looking figure also known as Dick! There is of course another fellow called Henning who likes to serenade us into a false sense of security.Don't say you haven't been warned!
By the way welcome to the forum a very special place for us sensible people stick with us and you will be safe as rain!

.. actually, Sharon.. I'm thinking of writing a poem of thanks for your saying you're going to write a poem of thanks.. just thought I'd mention.. unless you happen to post yours first, since then mine would just be a poem of thanks for your poem of thanks, and not for your saying you're going to write a poem of thanks, which would be a bit different, and possibly not as interesting.. still, don't let my announcement prevent you from posting your poem of thanks, which might even be a godsend, since I'm already realizing my poem of thanks would probably turn out to be a bit tentative seeming since I would not have actually have seen your poem yet..

.. I just love shop talk, don't you?

yours in thanks,

thank you for the lines
that trail from your pens
to my heart
soft lines of purity
crossing my insecurity
welcoming me
as if I am penned in.

.. gee, Sharon.. that last line almost has me feeling rather sad, except that its association to the title Animal Farm keeps intruding somehow..

.. well, I guess I have to now do as promised, and write my own poem of thanks.. hmm..

Thanks for your poem
so heartfelt and true,
I don't think my own thanks
holds a candle to you,
and wherever you're penned,
hope there's a broken-down fence,
or else it's Horse of Babylon
stew.

.. sorry.. I meant it to be a more welcoming poem, but it does have the chance of your escape, at least.. anyway, you know how it is once you're swept up into writing something.. it's hard to control where it goes sometimes..

Anyway, I very much look forward to your next poem.

Most sincerely,
