I need a shave

These days
when I shave
I try not to look at the entire face
40 years old
I have become so ugly
only small portions
of my skin is
bearable

but still the eyes
search for the eyes
And when I notice
the sorrow
I realize
what I could have
been
many years before
madness
found me
alone

Hello. this is a very sad poem and yet I feel an aura of redemption as well. if you had given up then you would not even trouble to search any more. I feel there is hope and I wish you all the best
