Leonard`s bracelet

Post by jeremek »

Great friends !

I have a question.
Mr.Cohen had at concerts a bracelet. On the right hand. Last time I saw her on the wrist of Mr. Cohen in concert in Katowice.
In Moscow there was no bracelets, and on any next concert.

My question is: what happened to it ?
...and fundamental question: the Bracelet, which symbolizes ?
I do not believe that there is not special ! Mr. Cohen takes on stage only important for him amulets.

If you help me ? Please

Greeting to you :)

Thank you very much, Arlene. You are irreplaceable.
As always :D

I have read. It is a picture (photo), and comment of forum members. But, unfortunately, is only a presumption. And an indication of the similarity of items.
Is there somewhere more detailed information ? (more reliable ?).

If the bracelet is a Catholic image, it explains a lot, why it sometimes disappears ;-)

Hi Beata,

I went looking for the bracelet - and found it. 8)

Moscow -
Tricky - because most the video was not close up.
But thanks to a screen shot -

At 0:54
“Hallelujah”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvpU9by0eQc

Warsaw -
In the photos of Adam Kowol (“Adam”) -

And in a photo by Daniel Wyszogrodzki posted at his blog -

Ljubljana -

At 2:29
"Hallelujah"

At 2:50
"Anthem"

As for Bratislava - I didn't see the bracelet.
It's tricky though - difficult to know what Leonard has "up his sleeve."  :D :D

And - I just want to add - that I thoroughly enjoyed watching all these videos - again. :D :D :D

And also adding - - I think it is more than a presumption - it is a bracelet of Catholic Saints - as depicted in the image posted by Mnkyface/Esther - and affirmed by Tom S.

Where did this bracelet come from.... well who knows ..
NEeMA bracelet.JPG

Thank you, you are wonderful finders.
But I'm in trouble now. Because it means that my eyes have not seen the bracelets, and it is your photographs. On one hand, this indicates that I was blind. And so it should be at the concert of Leonard. It may indeed not always in the pictures it shows. If anyone of you knows how to properly called the Bracelet ? It interested me because in Poland I was looking for this and not found. On the other hand, on this occasion, I'm curious deeper reason for replace the Rosary with beads on the bracelet ?

Thank you for the pictures and help :D

I would ask burningviolin about this bracelet - we noticed him wearing it in Lille and she thought he must have got it in Sligo as you can get them at the Catholic shrine near there. I'm sure she will know the proper name for it, I will direct her attention to this thread...

These bracelets are very common in California, especially in areas with large Hispanic population. They can be found at any dollar store here! I wouldn't be surprised if Leonard got his in LA... 8) And if he shops at the dollar store... then...well...that just confirms that he is the perfect man. I'm obsessed with the dollar store!

Oh me too! (well, the pound store in my case  ) Didn't realise the bracelets were so common, I'd never seen one before Leonard wore it.

I looked on USA Amazon and they are $1.95 - for a pair. Plus S&H of course!
The dollar store deal is better. :D

The similar bracelet as LC wears you can buy in Zagreb for 10 kunas (1,20 Euros). My impression was that he bought it here during his 6 days stay before the first show on July 25, as he never had it before; but if it's common also in LA, he could come with it already. Although, he doesn't have it on the photos from arrival to Zagreb on July 20 (true, maybe he puts it only for the shows).

I bought one but still didn't compare it with LC's (I received dozens of close-ups of his hand to do that:P)

From http://www.articlealley.com:

"Numerous Saint bracelets that are in vogue today are made of hematite and are magnetized as well. Hematite is a mineral

comprised of iron oxide and when cut and refined, exhibits a metallic black shine. Hematite can be made into fine-looking

bracelets and has also been acknowledged for centuries as a physiologic & cerebral healer and curative instrument

attributable to it's magnetic properties. Hematite is also relatively inexpensive.

The magnetic properties of hematite have been used to encourage physiologic healing in the way of addressing the following:

headaches, body cramps and pains, nervous disorders, anemia, insomnia, poor blood circulation, carpal tunnel syndrome, bone

fractures and sports injuries to name a few. Golf players have popularized magnetic hematite bracelets since they are

thought to prevent inflammation and provide pain relief as well as create an ionic equilibrium within the arm and wrist.

The cerebral healing applications of magnetic hematite are reported to be: relief of tension, improving overall mental

function & focus, improving memory, aiding in meditation and effectuating a calm state of mind. It has also been said to

help stimulate astral projection or out of body experiences
."

Could well describe Leonard's bracelet and might help to explain why he wore throughout the European tour.

Sounds like a good explanation for wearing the bracelet.
