WHY

Why is the task of making my bed
A morning activity done nightly instead
Why is the lock on the bathroom door
Always broken making pissing a chore
Why does my toast at breakfast turn black
Before it has got some jam on it’s back
Why do the buses always run late
After I struggle with the garden gate
Why does the postman always arrive
So the letters go awol but the bills survive
Why does the journey to work take an hour
To give me less time in the nice warm shower
Why are my duties at work so dull
And the tea urn empty never full
Why does the boss always demand
That I do jobs that are badly planned
Why are the buses still running late
And I still struggle with the garden gate
Why is the task of making my bed

Why do I think it is useless to try
To answer these questions of why, why, why
