Babylon the Great, with night in your eyes
Look upon the wise souls of kings and men
Whose minds dissipate, for sin in disguise
Will challenge them to marvel or condemn.
With hearts to negate ride between your thighs
A beast with heads of seven, horns of ten.

Abomination of the earth foregone,
This poor blood to your naked thirst impart
Wicked temptation, O great Babylon,
As saints and martyrs subject to your art
Of fornication lay their heads upon
Your breast that never imprison’d a heart.

Array’d in scarlets and purples abloom,
Adorn’d with gold and precious stones and gems,
Mother of Harlots, nurture in your womb
Burning hatred that from the pit ascends
As pain incarnate, traveling with Doom
Into perdition where their journey ends.

You will find me there, in your mystery,
One mind against the righteous op’ratives,
Seducing the rare tongue of blasphemy
In the mountains and waters where it lives.
But lo and beware, those who come shall see
The beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
