In the break following the hearty repast of reverence and respect afforded Leonard Cohen consequent to the Lissadell House concerts and the resumption of performances tonight, Heck Of A Guy is offering a palate cleanser. As an equally valid albeit somewhat less dignified perspective on the singer-songwriter, today's post features a video montage of images of Leonard Cohen As Hunk (DrHGuy has been advised by usually reliable sources that many women consider Mr Cohen somewhat attractive). Rather than pairing Leonard Cohen with the spirit of Yeats, this video calls upon the services of Randy Newman and Etta James, the author and performer, respectively, of the musical background, "You Can Leave Your Hat On."

Great job.

You have captured something unique...a new perspective on pictures we all know ( at least some of them) by the artful use of music. They come alive with a wonderfully playful touch. My sense is, having seen many of these pictures appealing to the sense of sight, it is awakening to add the sense of sound to this photo compilation. And would that such sight and sound visit us in many concerts to come. Halevi!

Of course, I am sure Sheila would agree that the "shorts" don't need much music!

Because reverence-modulation vis-à-vis Leonard Cohen is, especially these days, an arduous and lonely task, one is grateful for the occasional faux pas our icon of choice has committed that has been preserved for posterity. I am right with your sentiments on this one Dr H, enough said.
Wow, what a treat, great song, great pictures - quite a few I have never seen before.
Glad to know that I wasn't the only one who was stunned by the sudden sight of LC in CUT OFF SHORTS, they aroused the perv in me that I hadn't known existed! Wish we could have seen a bit more of his legs.
I hope Leonard gets to see this one, I think he will just love it.
