I don’t believe in fireworks
I don’t believe people walk into your life.
I don’t believe people walk into your life and distract you.
I don’t believe people walk into your life and distract you while doves move into your shoes.
I don’t believe people walk into your life and dance with you while those doves begin to fly.
I don’t believe people walk into your life and make you laugh so hard that you become light enough for the doves to carry you above life’s ugliness.
I don’t believe people walk into your life and are still standing beside you when the doves drop you off somewhere else.
The fireworks were lovely.
Thanks for making me aware of the doves Leonard Cohen

I do.
I loved your poem Kim!
"while doves move into your shoes"
what a great image you've put into my head. I also liked the ending acknowledgment that the fireworks were lovely.
