Fall, Burning.

[Atom Heart]

Here is where it shall be
the monument
to the falling leaves
in the shadow of the steel beast
and beside the burning trees.
I will labour at the mason
and construct in each city
and rake the restless deadfall
into the pits of earth
covering them with haste.
My work orderly
the monument will stand
until forever ends tomorrow
and when the last leaf falls
from the final blazing tree.
