[short] ode to an empty box
[short] ode to an empty box
[short] ode to an empty box
oh, empty box, that we did dwell upon thee
oh, empty box, that we did contemplate your size
your plywood nature
the cavity of your being;
body-sized, on its side,
or vertically standing upright,
or turned to the wall -- away from us, from our
knowing of your emptiness
oh, empty box, oh, body-sized
oh, that this body knows such
spaces it might inhabit, even in death,
for don’t we anticipate such a box?
such a box, when no longer empty?

Vi-O-let,
This manages to be eerie and wry at the same time; I like the idea of examining death in a more playful, less solemn way.
I miss you guys. Coming back for good soon.

Ode to Imaginary Friend
Oh, Imaginary Friend, that we have waited upon thee,
Oh, Imaginary Friend, that you have never been imaginary,
(or at least not entirely),
Oh, Imaginary Friend, that you be here 'til the bitter end,
Here 'til mickey_o comes home,
Here 'til geoffrey and he sing a sad song,
Here 'til violet stops behaving like a starlet,
Here 'til Cate gets her ratchet straps straight,
Here 'til Karren B. starts behaving like a proper Lady,
Here 'til King Gerry starts treating her to dinner now and then.. after all, that's an awful lot of polishing she's been doing.. (it's a long long story.. though not quite as long as the king thinks, or so says Lady K.)..
Okay, well the end needs fixing, and I've no doubt left out some people, as well as some Greek choruses 'n things, but it's a start..
So nice to see you back here!!.. (and thanks for the poem appreciation)..
love,

I thank you and I heart you Dear V. That is the first poem ever written for me – that I know of ha-ha.
PS: If Cate's looking for the ratchet straps, they're on the shelf with her flyswatter...

Imaginary Friend
Again, I drop in by accident.
So refreshing to see how much you are cared for.
