Challenge needed

Post by Harry S »

name any LC song and you can have a free parody within minutes. the one below took just over 6 minutes. cetain complex ones may take as long as 10 minutes and instrumentals perhaps 20 minutes for a complete lyric change

here's my version of his famous

IF IT BE YOUR WELL

If it be your well
If there is a choice
Let the rivers fill
Let the pails rejoice
Let your water spill
On all these burning hearts in hell
If it be your well

And draw us water
And bind us tight
Ah, your daughter’s here
With her fag alight
With her fag alight
Her breath did smell
So end this night
And tip her down your well

If it be your well.

hey, when I said "any" LC song. you are a walking provocation, Claire. First, you know I am camped out in Edinburgh, in a mid-size shoe box as it happens, and with a poor Net connection. Secondly, that dirge, no way! I would have to read it and hear in my head the awful tune before destroying it by parody. Ok for the millionth time here is the opening verse of my tribute to Leonard's second worst ever song, as recited to the Man himself a couple of years back at the Green Note

There's a Bird on a Wire
Shoot her, Shoot Her
Time for Tweety to expire
No more points as a Frequent Flyer.

The rest of it is nearly as brilliant but I can't remember it and don't want to

Try again, please

Harry

ps the answer to your question is,of course, Jazz Police

ok, not one I know that well but a nice song. It will probably take me 10, including getting the lyrics on this slow slow connection. so, the time here in Scotland is 22.48

so-so effort, and formatting went haywire. allowing for these extraneous problems stilloutside the 10 mins, just a few seconds over 11. anyway, here it is for you, Claire

A bunch of lonely and very wilted flowers

were lying out along the open road;

the fern was very dark and thick between them,

home to an extraordinary toad.

"I'd like to tell my story,"

said the frog so young and bold,

"I'd like to tell my story,

before I turn into mould."

But no one really could see him,

his skin so dark and thick and green;

well I guess that these amphibians must always live there

in their typical leather skin.

Put out your cigarette, my love,

you've been a human too long;

and you are sounding so very croaky now

when I hear you croon your song

I sing this for the Bufonidae
I sing this for the Bombinatoridae
I sing this for the Discoglossidae
and for all who do not need me.
"I'd like to tell my story,"
said one of them so bold,
"Oh yes, I'd like to tell my story
'cause you know I feel I'm turning into a toad."

just one verse, took 2 minutes, it was getting too obscene

Maybe you’re still sticky
It’s on the other cheek
But you know that I still love you
It's just that I reached the peak
I tried to aim it everywhere
And you said “please do”
I shot my load, it’s in your hair
AAAH! “I’m coming over you

Something told me that it would be along those lines.

Very clever.

sorry, had enough for tonight. also the last one was not typical of me, I feel sullied now and must immediatelytake several baths and showers although I will give them back later. Normally I am as puree as the driven snow. Now I feel as puree as a blushing tomato.

Bravo! - this is one of my most favourites.
When I am bent and old and loosing my marbles somewhere in a nursing home on the East Coast - No-one is going to know what the bloody hell I am singing about. Perfect :D

Ok Genie... how many wishes do I get on this thread? Or are you shutting it down now? - bearing in mind that you wasted my first one haha
